Default Valeo Rubber Headlamp bulb Dust Cover

I have a 2008 roadster and someone swiped one of the 4 rubber headlamp dust covers that are found under the hood and caps the headlamp bulb. The part is soft rubber, has a finger tab to pull it off on the exterior of the cover and stamped on the outside "Valeo". Inside the cap are stamped numbers are as follows:
89001960
(89034832)
7*
>EPDMK<

I ordered a part and it was supposed to fit because the numbers match but the 7* does not it is a 13* and is for a Renault. If you have one I am interested. Please send me an email to rebeccawinston@msn.com. Cheers!

There is a kit to stop the condensation from developing in the headlight and it contains two of these caps. The kit is quite cheap, probably less than the cost of two caps separately.

I think that the #7 and #13 are the cavity numbers of the mold that the parts were molded on.

I'll look for the part number for it.

The parts shown on the plastic bag is half of what you get, the rest is what is replaced by the kit. The part number is on the bag, I suspect that there is no Mercedes number for this kit as the headlight was made specifically for the Crossfire even thought it has a Mercedes part number. The other clue to this statement is the fact that there is no Mercedes sticker on the bag.

OK. 180 answered your query.

But, I guess I'll be the first to ask: How in heck did someone "swipe" the cap?

I'd guess that a bulb was replaced and the cover was misplaced or dropped onto the engine cover pan.
I have seen one found down by the battery because of that.

The kit in post #2, above, is pretty cheap-~$20 when I bought mine.

And it will help prevent condensation issues in the future.

Really? Just type "05174786AA" into Google.

Chrysler. #05174786AA: SEAL KIT. Headlamp.

That site says the part is no longer available.
Why not take advantage of the kind offer by amx1397? That's an easy solution.

You're quite right there and proved your point by using the wrong write. Just pulling your leg, my iPad fills in swords and if I Mississippi them God alone knows whit the sentence will slay.
