Default TPMS alternative

I came across this today and Im curious if anyone has any experience with this model or others. Basically, you screw the pressure sensors in, calibrate them to the included monitor (after disabling the original system) and youre done. You can even replace the batteries, so you dont have to worry about replacing sensors. I appreciate all input.

I just ordered a set of new wheels. I'm going this route myself. The caps are a little large and extend the valve out. The new cap does change the wheel balance slightly. I'm going to install the shorty 1" valve stems (if that works) and have the wheels balanced with the new caps in place.

Please let me know how it works for you. I have the factory wheels, so it does concern me if the replacement stems will actually fit.

Thanks!

When you screw them on they must depress the air valve to let the air pressure activate the sensor, so there must be a seal in it, I wonder how long that seal lasts?
If some people see them they will steal them just for the heck of it.

They do come with a lock nut and a special wrench to tighten and loosen. Thieves need to have a tool to do the deed.

I have been using external tpms for awhile in my oem wheels, and in my 18x8.5 & 19x11 wheels.
On my esr wheels, I have Short metal valve stems siliconed in, tires balanced with the tpms caps installed.

They work good, alot better than oem, carry extra batteries.
Before use, use included tools to separate where you can get to battery and use some teflon tap on the threads.
I used a small dab of silicone smoothed around oring and let dry.

They need a better seal from moisture where the battery is.

Just for fun here's one system I bought..

Incredibly it comes with 4 inside the tire sensors. Looking closely you can see the round battery compartment. Supposedly they last 5 years.

Will these stems work in your opinion?

Sorry, my weekends are hectic, and work has been long.

If you are getting internal sensors, you do not need the valve stems.
I got external sensors, they are just large valve caps.
The stems I use are bolt in, short, so the caps do not stick outside of the wheels.

I agree that this is some great details Speedy. Ill be investing in a system shortly. I just have to remember to tell anyone that replaces my tires to not throw them away... 😁

I had one. It went belly up after about 8 months. During the time it worked, it would periodically beep, lose its settings and reset to zero. Finally went out completely and showed false readings on all tires, LF 34, RF 0, LF 0, RR 34, Waste of money.

Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. It's obvious that the internal sensor kit doesn't require alternate valve stems..
Since I bought both systems, trying to decide which one to go with. Those very short stems in the picture are what I'm curious about. I haven't seen the cap sensors in person and don't know if a very short stem will allow those sensors enough clearance to be installed..

Ohh! This is important to hear. These chinese tpms are so inexpensive that it's good to get a report on their longevity. Thanks!

Why I mentioned about sealing the compartment better where the battery and electronics are at.

Will look in a few, bought off of amazon.

Going to do some research to see if i can find any external sensors that will work on the air lift bags I installed in my rear coils.

Some sensors use centrifugal force to send signals.

The link on amazon didn't work anymore, but this is the one I have, had to better seal the batteries and keep extra batteries handy, temping only in c.
Is not on the mount and have the display between center left vent and the fan speed dial.

Looking into others for a dually, need 6 sensors or get another one, seen them for like $30 on ebay
