Default Blinking TMPS light

My 2005 crossfire has tires that are 6 years old, the sensor light is blinking but the tire pressure is good on all 4 tires. I have never replaced the batteries or the TMPS on the tires. Since the care is 14 years old should I replace them when I get new tires?
If so should I purchase them and carry them to my tire guy? Where is the best place to purchase them?

The easiest is to do all at the time tires get replaced. That is what I did, see my sig file TPMS 101 post. I suspect the fact the light blinks is different than a solid light so you may have something else going on. Meaning it could be the TPMS receiver in the car that is the issue. I can't find right now what the flashing means.

PS; You will get advice and the link on how to disable the light. I'm not one of those. I believe modifying the light to never work devalues the car.

I know on many of the newer car models, a blinking TPMS light indicates a tire sensor issue. But if I remember, since the Crossfire TPMS system is an early design, there shouldn't be a blinking light for any condition. All we get is a solid light indicating some sort of issue, which has to be diagnosed. LOW or HIGH tire pressure, sensor fault, TPMS system fault. Did I miss anything?

The sensors only indicate low pressure in a tire, sensor battery or system failure and not high pressure.
The reason for a flashing light is a mystery to me, I have never seen that mentioned before.

I remember having a light on the original Red Roadster. I had high pressure in one tire.
Jam 45 or more pounds in a tire and drive a mile or so - I'd bet ya the light will come on.

Just remember, the sensor does not transmit sitting still; ya gotta drive a bit for it to trigger.

I know it's been nine years, but I really am sure they will trigger on high pressure.

Found the fix! Turned out to be a bad battery. I replaced the battery, light still was flashing so I followed your advice and actually drove the car. Within 2 blocks the light went off.
I feel like a pinch of goat..... because i ordered a new set of tires thinking my tires were bad, anyway live and learn.............Thanks for the good advice!

We may have learned something new with your issue. A "blinking" TPMS light is another indicator of a weak battery. Who Knew!!
