Default New shoes (teaser)

Last week (6/22), I picked up some new shoes for the SRT. After a year of indecisiveness, second-guessing, Facebook polling, and second opinions from wifey -- I pulled the trigger on the brand-new Mandrus Rotec.

Fitment is same as what I currently have in the Wilhelms, these are just a bit lighter (and more $$$) and they get me back to a multi-spoke look. As with the Wilhelm, there is ample room for a BBK when money/time comes around. I will lose an average of five pounds per corner with these... nothing major, but significant.

Should have them mounted within the week. Will keep you guys posted. Until then, a teaser

Cheers,

Saaweet! What sizes did you end up gettin? And what size spacers will they need, if any? Can't wait to see them mounted.

Thanks everyone!!

As for light rubber, I tried to consider weight, but didn't place an extreme priority on it as I'd rather have a stickier tire, even if it's a pound or two heavier.

syfi -- I got the same size, 18x8.5 +32mm in the front, and 19x9.5 +35mm in the rear. I had to go with the +35mm offset in the rear because the +25mm version is backordered indefinitely... They were predicting at least five months. Also, I'm going to play around with spacers on the rear to *perfectly* fill the stance out in the rear wheel-wells. Thinking I'll need a 12mm or 15mm spacer, it just depends. My current wheels are +25mm offset, and I feel they could be out another few millimeters. But starting with a 25mm offset, I'm limited in what spacers I can obtain.

So, I pulled the trigger on +35mm and plan to build out.

Be sure to post some photos after the install (which I'm sure you will).

Was kind of hoping to see the Mandrus Arrow when I opened the thread but still a great pick :P Will be interested to know fully loaded weights of the rotary vs the wilhelms. You are right about the rears, they could come out ever so slightly for perfect flush, I'm not sure how much you would be able to get away with once lowered though.

I considered the Arrow, but I wanted to go back to a near-OEM look...

When I had the Wilhelm on the white car, it was lowered 2" in the rear. The +25mm offset would just clear the fender under heavy turning load... Still, I would like to push out *slightly* further. Thinking the 12mm H&R spacer will be perfect, as that will net an overall offset of +23mm (35-12)

Just so much cleaning :P. will be interested to see how they look on the car for sure. I would think the 12 would be fine but a 15 would probably be in the perfect spot for the beefy flush look, functionality on the other hand would be mighty, mighty close. With only a couple mm though I'm sure it wouldn't take much playing to make it all safe. I picked up some spacers from NW I havn't used yet (think 15 and 20mm) for the stock winter rims to fit after brake upgrade. If you need some for playing around with let me know, just need em back before snow comes

I'll definitely consider the offer!! I think you're right, I'll buy the 15mm versions, and if the extra 3mm proves too much, I'll carry them to a machine shop and have them shave the backs 3mm. 12mm hardly seems worth the trouble.
