Tires
My tires measured a 5 for treat...do you guys think that is good enough to take to the dragon...have been thinking of putting new tires on and not sure if I should do it before I go or wait until spring??? You know I don't like driving the Dragon much anyway and would like to know my tires have great suction.

They start with 10 and they are bald at 0
Keep em til next spring Judy and come to the Dragon.
Besides you will be runnin with a convoy in the event you run into any unforeseen problems.
Re: Tires
Those are the tires that were on the white xfire....isn't that low tread if those tires only had 7K miles on them?

Gary what are the size of the fronts on your car? Does the 285 rear stick out much? thinking of putting them on my car but I don't drive like you do...

The rears are 285/35/19 slightly wider and taller but fit good and look great.

Hey Gang,
So, having read through the Tire Review thread, and this thread on the
Hankook Ventus V12 evo 110 tires, I decided to use these as my next set.
I had them installed this afternoon, and I have to say the do look good.
Like some, I went with the stock size up front, but 285x30 size on the the
back.
Chose the 30 series over the 35 because 1) I don't mind back aches
and 2) I liked the idea of keeping as close to correct speedo readings as
possible. Went with the 285 width because I wanted a wider tire and there
was a lot of positive feedback on this size. I had considered the 295, but
even though I had seen at least one or two folks reporting no problems, I
was a little concerned with that much "stretch" on a 9" wide rim.
I really like the look from the rear. Those tires look much wider than the
255 GS-D3s that came off. I think I'll have to drive on them a little before
I make any conclusions, but they sure are quieter. Very quiet. I was
taken a little by surprise, though, when I was leaving the tire store, as I
stepped down on the gas in the normal way to pull out into traffic (55mph)
and the tires spun. Enough so that the rear end started to come around.
I just chalked it up to being brand spanking new and still slippery. The
ride home was fine, but I was a little easier on the gas.
Really, though, I wish Goodyear had continued the GS-D3 series. We
usually get a lot of rain, and many serious downpours, and those tires
were awesome in the heavy rain. Splash right through standing puddles
and never feel a shudder or skitter. If the Hankooks perform anywhere
near as good as that, then they'll get my seal of approval (for what it's
worth).
Thanks for the lead on these tires guys. So far, I like them. Just need
a little time to let that relationship flower.
BTW, if anyone will be near the Dragon next Monday or Tuesday, see if
you can catch me! I'll be moving fast!

I may try to see if I can get a dealer in Buffalo to get them and make a weekend out of it.

however, opted for the convenience of getting them installed one day after
ordering instead of waiting for UPS. YMMV.

So, I've been driving on these tires for a nearly 1000 miles now and I've
come to some conclusions.
1) these tires are pretty good in the rain. Hold the road well when wet,
and seem to handle the standing water just fine.
2) these tires ain't got no grip. Maybe I got a weak set, or they need more
miles on them, but I find I have to be more careful with the throttle than
I was with my previous tires. Very easy to break loose from a stop, and
do not hold in the corners as well.
3) There is a definit feeling that the rims are shifting over the sidewalls
during cornering. Inflation is proper.
I would rate these tires as good for those who drive drive around town or
are not as agressive in the corners. They will do me fine driving back and
forth to work until I'm ready for the next set, but I do think I'll have to be
a bit easier in my driving to make these last much more than a year. The
way it feels now, the rears will need replacing in 6 months. They just spin
so darn easily.

I have about 9,000 on mine and they still have a good amount of tread left. The rear tires are really starting to suck in the rain. I do have the oem 255/35/19 maybe the up size some have get better traction. I bought them based on the comparison test they did with the PS2's and a few other tires and claimed to be as good as the pilot's. After having both they don't even come close to the Michelin Pilot's other than a little smoother and quieter. They are a good tire for the price but like they say you get what you pay for.(in this case anyway).

I am being told that there is no such thing, that I must buy new TPMS modules from the dealer for $110 each and then take them to the tire store.
Am I dealing with the wrong tire store?

Maybe the tires just need to warm up a little more for you or maybe they are too warm & getting greasy.
