Biggest tire's on OEM Limited Wheels
Re: Biggest tire's on OEM Limited Wheels
After reviewing the valuable experience shared here, I just ordered my stock wheel tire replacements:
F: 235/40-18 - curious to see how much rubbing will occurs
R: 275/30-19 - needed to sign a waiver as it is "2% more than recommended size"
Thanks for being my Subject Matter Experts

A WORD OF CAUTION! Just because the "size" is the same, it does not mean that two tires from different manufacturers will be the same width! My 295 30 19 pirellis are about 3/4in. wider than my 295 30 19 contis. Needless to say this did not help my rubbing problem!
These are the old Conti's. I had to take off my 20mm spacers and drop down to 12mm to keep the Perelli's from rubbing on the outside of the fender.

Tires arrived, and just got them on at Costco.. GREAT!
Drives and grips very well indeed, as 05XF-LVR advised, no rubbing at max turning radius. It does look very nice indeed, more aggressive, I would venture to say... Seems quieter too, but had the top down, so cannot really tell yet. It was a joke to the techs when they saw that I had 2 left tires in the rear... Wonder if the previous owner knew...
OLD: GoodYear F1 A/S
F: 225/40-18
R: 255/35-19
NEW: Michelin Pilot Sports A/S Plus
F: 235/40-18 (36psi)
R: 275/30-19 (36psi)

Re: Biggest tire's on OEM Limited Wheels
I just put the same size tires on mine. Bridgestone RE760 Potenza Sports.
I must admit, tho, that the 30 aspect-ratio tires on the rear (OEM is 35) look a little silly and too low-profile paired with the 40 aspect fronts.
Also, the fronts are taller than OEM and the rears are shorter than OEM which, in sum, alters the balance of the car more than an inch ... throws the headlight aim into the sky. Not sure what it does to steering yaw. When I do it again, I will either maintain the 40F/35R aspect ratios or drop BOTH ratios to 35F/30R, regardless of the wider tread widths.
In theory, the widest tires that you should safely attempt to mount onto the OEM 7.5"F and 9"R rims are 255/35R18 fronts and 285/30R19 rears. The tires are wider, obviously, but very, very close to OEM tall. This set should look awesome, and the only difficulty might be some inconsequential rubbing of the front tires against the rearward of the front wheel well at full turn lock. CAUTION: any fatter or taller and you could rub on the upper control-arm nut (I think that's what it is) fatally. Very few manufactures produce BOTH of these sizes ... I believe a couple are Kumho Extensa's and Bridgestone Pole Position's.
If anyone gets a set like this, let us know how it looks.

Please let me know if you find out differently.
Thanks.
BTW: The Bridgestone RE760 Sports are absolutely the smoothest and quietest riding tire you're going to find for the Crossfire. Makes the Conti's feel like pencil erasers. The 760's make you feel like you're driving a much larger car, and the performance ain't bad either. The only downside (if it matters) is that the sidewall-to-tread shoulder is a bit more rounded than most sport tires ... doesn't have that defined 'slick' look ... but fine by me. Probably why they're so smooth and quiet.

yeah, I appretiate your input and after sleeping on it I did decide against it. I found a new set that will need a spacer for the rear (19x9.5 with a 34mm offset) but other than that they should be a great fit. what would you guys recommend for a spacer on that wheel anyways 10mm? 15? dont mean to hijack this thread but any help would be great

I would DEFINITELY do a good hub centric spacer, not some cheap chinese ****. I am running Eibach Pro spacers, as with many other members, kid of expensive ($100-$150) but you get what you pay for, right??
