I have a set on my daughter's SRT and they hide the brake dust and dirt better than the stock SRT rims. Not that they stay dirty very long.

I may have misworded my response. I meant to say that those painted SRT rims shouldn't be on a non SRT car. It tends to fool people into thinking the car is an SRT at a glance.

If the XF is parked and if it is SSB, Black, Graphite or Blue (????) maybe, but the wing is what I would be looking to see. There is no mistaking a red XF for a SRT. Even if you don't see the wing.

GOTcha... You're backpeddeling LOL

I was looking at those wheels on one of the several red verts. at Integrity Dodge while one of my wheels was being replaced(peeling clearcoat) and figured they would be great for brake dust hiding. Also when I first bought my SRT-6 and didn't know all the colors I saw a line of Crossfires at this same dealership and one in the middle was red with these wheels(all you could see was the front of the car and one wheel..............so I ASSumed it was an SRT-6. Live and learn(your colors).

So what you are saying is that you were knowledgable enough to know what SRT rims were, but not what colors they came in and didn't see or did not know about the wing.. AND THIS IS YOUR STORY? AND YOU ARE STICKING TO IT? Do not pass go, do not collect $200 and we will let you out on bail even though you assumed it was an SRT. I would have a blaze red SRT roadster if they were made.

Just think how much we learn every day. It is the little things that make a difference.

I knew about the wing.............it just wasn't visible when I drove by in my car. I wanted a red one too to go along with my Charger.

IMHO The blacked out frame goes great with the inferno red and those wheels. Of course the roadster body helps. Clearly an unbiased opinion.

Sorry I'm on vacation w/o my XF but I can tell you looking at the pictures of those which are SRT's, I don't have any of that stitching on mine; so yes, it is a base and I agree the black on the red is great looking...

I've still got the sticker and I'll see if it says anything about the wheels being an "upgrade" or not; at purchase I didn't care about the wheels as much as the car itself.

They are not "base" crossfires. There are 4 crossfire models: base, special edition, limited and SRT6. The special edition comes with the SRT style wheels with the grey inserts. They were not an added option, rather part of the special edition package, which also included the automatic transmission (different from the base models which only came with 6mt). The seats were cloth and unheated, they had no foglights and the windshield surround was black (all similar to the base model). The other difference from the base model, besides the wheels and automatic trans were the silver side strakes and door handles (the base has black).

I have a 2006 Blaze Red SE roadster as described above but with a 6MT not an automatic. The sticker called this preferred package 21P. This included the wheels and strakes/door handles for $310 and $150 for the Blaze Red.

Thanks for the info. I believe in 2005 the SE roadster was only available in an automatic (correct me if I'm wrong), but in 2006 and on, you could get the 6mt or auto? I was also unaware that the window sticker added back in for the package, I figured it was just an adjusted base price.

Like Erzer, I too have a 2007 Blaze Red Roadster. Looks just like James' picture. It's a Base model with the Special Edition Group for $310. This includes the Satin Door Handles to match the side strakes and the front edging of the grill. Also included are the "spoked "wheels with the charcoal gray insides. Hides the brake dust a bit, but not enough. 5 Speed AT with Autostick and the satin shifter for an additional $1075 on the sticker. No stitching on the head rest, must be his own doing. Would like to have had the fog lamps up front, the Infinity stereo and the home link. Never once considered it to be an SRT.

I sit corrected and feel special.... Seriously though, I appreciate the info and I'll have to check the sticker when I get home. As I pretty much stumbled on the deal for the XF, was looking for a convertible and the dealer just happened to have two of these left and a great deal (I always liked the XF), I got damn lucky.
