Default Rear speakers not working

The rear speakers on my crossfire (2006) model with infinity radio do not appear to be working, I have played different sorts of music at different volumes and can detect no sound from them.

I have a couple of questions:

1) Do all models of the crossfire have rear speakers?

2) The owners manual says the car has an amplified system, yet when I speaker to car audio places they all say it is just a standard head unit without a separate amp. How can I tell?

3) Assuming speakers are present, does any one have any suggestions on how to get these working?

I have all had the car a couple of weeks, and the rears have not worked since I have had it.

Thanks

The base model has no separate amp, the Limited does. The amp is at the front of the passenger foot well under the carpet on a white metal panel along with the TCM.
I don't think the base model even HAS rear speakers, but I could be wrong ......
( if the head unit has black *****, you have a base model )

I have checked the head unit it has the silver *****, and found the amp, nothing was plugged into the amp Q3 infinity, and there is a black siemens unit next to it, not sure if this standard or is some kind of replacement amp.

The connectors for the Q3 were unplugged and a lot of the cables coming from the connectors were cut, not sure if this is standard but assume not.

Plugging in the connectors to the Q3 does not change the situation

You could assume the previous owner had the OEM Amp fail and replaced with the aftermarket one. Check the Seimen amp fuse

Looks like a previous owner messed things up. Please keep in mind the speakers in the bulkhead behind the seats are subs, not full range speakers.

As is previously mentioned they are subs and not give any sound, turn volume up on radio and put your hand in front of the subs and you should feel puffs of air coming from them.

it does look as though the amp has been by passed, putting hand in front of speakers does not generate any air even with volume on max and tracks with heavy bass.

Thanks for all your comments has helped in working out the issue.
