UK Crossfire Meet - 8/9 August - Billing Aquadrome near Northampton
UK Crossfire Meet - 8/9 August - Billing Aquadrome near Northampton
UK Cruisers' 9th annual Picnic in the Park is taking place the weekend of 8th/9th August at Billing Aquadrome near Northampton. UK Cruisers (www.ukcruisers.net) is the national owners club for the PT Cruiser. Typically around 200 PT Cruisers, many customised, turn up for the event over the two days. The organisers have always welcomed attendance by owners of other MOPAR makes, and we have again been invited to attend and display our cars.
The event takes place in one of the Aquadrome's fully enclosed show fields, Puddleduck Place, and we will be parking up with the PTs and will be welcome to take part in all of the weekend events and festivities, including a themed 'bring-several-bottles' party on the Saturday night. Catering and toilets are on site, and accomodation is available at the adjoining Premier Travel Inn at Great Billing for around £50 for the Saturday night...or you can pitch a tent like many others wil be doing.
The details for Billing Aquadrome are:
Crow Lane
Great Billing
Northampton
NN3 9DA
See www.aquadrome.co.uk
There is an admission charge per car of £10. This charge is levied by the Aquadrome, not UK Cruisers. Once through the gates, follow the signs for PITP (Picnic in the Park) to the show field.
The show starts around 10am on both Saturday and Sunday. I intend to arrive around late morning on the Saturday and will be staying through to Sunday.
Please could anybody wishing to attend post in reply to this thread. More details to follow as I receive them from the UKC organisers.
Cheers.

Add Jane and Ken to your list for the Aquadrome meet. I have confirm accommadation for the Saturday at the Premier Inn, and that there is a drinking establisment on site. As I forcast a sunny day for our Wheele Day meet and it rained, I guess I'm in the chair for the first round of drinks on the 8th Aug come rain or sun.
See how happy the girls were at our Christmas meet..be wonderful if they all attended the 8/9 Aug Billing meet.
Ken.

Steve and Andrea now booked into Premier Travel Inn for Sat 8th August. - Lets make this the big one!!!!
After a "WET-Wheels Day", Kens position as "Crossfire Weather Forcaster Extraordinaire" is now under review and I vote that we give him one more chance to sort the Sunshine out for this meet!
This will a great weekend if we can get a god turn out - there is lots to see and do at this one and if we do get a nice warm day we could lay on the first "Crossfire Picknick"
This location is very central and should be reachable for most of the UK gang.

HI,
that is the day after our holiday - we will be touring around Devon (hopefully) in the Xfire the previous week, and we will be returning home on the 7th August. I will have to think about the Saturday as we will be back home wanting to regroup and rest. I think we can do the Sunday. Would us turning up on the Sunday be OK?

Looking forward to this event. With acommodition, food, and ale close by! Come rain or sun, this will keep me and Steve happy..plus our wives
I checked today if acommodition is still available at the Premier Inn, and it is. So if your planning to stay over I suggest you book sooner than later.
Hope we have a good turnout.
Ken.
No weather predictions from me this time around!!!

The Prem Travel Inn is located just by the site entrance an is ideal for this event. There is a lot to see apart from the 100's of cars and if the weather is good (which it will be!) we could have the first Crossfire picnic. There has also been talk of a competition for best turned out and polished up Xfire in the line up with a modest little trophy for the winer! This could then be a regular feature if the meets, the trophy being passed on to next winner.

BUMP!!!
Only 5 weeks til this one. Anyone else up for a great weekend?
Also, if anyone attending is able to spare maybe an hour over the weekend to help out with some of the competitions or marshalling, it will be appreciated...cheers.

Re: UK Crossfire Meet - 8/9 August - Billing Aquadrome near Northampton
HI,
the week before the meet, I will be on holiday and possibly not able to view this board. I’m not sure if a PAYG mobile broadband dongle for my laptop will be worth getting as some of the places we will be may not have good mobile access - I believe some areas still only have 3 TV channels!
I will be back on the Saturday, but that day is partly a day of rest after a week of driving, but also my only chance to see the Dinosaurs at the O2 in London.
So if all the important details are available this month (location, where to go when we arrive, etc), then I should be set.
Looking forward to it!

Hey Paul
Just head straight to Billing Aquadrome on Sunday morning...address and post code are at the start of this thread. When you come through the Aquadrome pay gates, just follow the posted signs to PITP (Picnic in the Park)...or the guys on the gate will be able to direct you to Puddleduck Place as well. Easy to find.
I'll be on-site by 10am at the latest on the Sunday. Any probs, call me...you should have my mobile number, but if not, pm me.
Look forward to seeing you...and have a great holiday.
