What does that mean? If the car does not start then there is a SKREEM problem.
Please explain fully as I left my crystal ball at the local fair last year. 😀

I tried to sync my fob by what i saw here put key in ignition press button 2x turn key on wait a min the try and start. No go only starts after battery disconnect re connect. So obviously the key isnt communicating are antenna ring, not sending to skreem are skreem not sending yo ecu. Im looking for some clues to narrow it down to a more failed componet . Thank you for responding

Maybe someone else can understand, SKREEM, module, disconnect? Sounds like a SKREEM problem to me.

WRong. The sync (or "Programming procedure") is as follows:

The Remote Keyless Entry Transmitter(s) can be programmed by thecustomer without special tools.
PROGRAMMING PROCEDURE
Transmitter programming by the customer is done by performing the following steps:

1. Insert the key into the ignition switch.
2. Press either the lock or unlock button momentarily twice.
3. Turn the key in the ignition switch to the ON/RUN position within 30 seconds.

This programs the LOCK/UNLOCK/PANIC buttons to the car; the buttons' functions are powered by the batteries in the key FOB. This has NOTHING to do with starting the engine.

Starting the engine is a function of the RFID chip in the key. When you turn the key to 'on', the SKREEM powers up the ring around the key, this energizes the RFID chip in the key, the chip sends a signal to the ring, which is transported over the wires to the SKREEM. If the code in the chip is what the SKREEM wants, it allows the ECM to start the car. This engine start function cannot be programmed by the customer.

You are right in that a failed ring will cause a no-start condition, but I've found ring failures to be very rare. The experts tell us that the SKREEMS fail due to a software failure in the SKREEM itself. This is repairable by some aftermarket vendors, but not Chrysler dealers.

And this is the most reputable company to repair your SKREEM correctly so your Key Fob and Alarm still function
He also will keep your VIN # associated with the SKREEM once repaired
I recently bought a spare (cloned) SKREEM from him

It is POSSIBLE the SKREEM is not your problem BUT you need to be more concise as to what is wrong. Does the car starter CRANK but not start, or does it do nothing (no starter cranking)? You do not have to program the FOB to START the car, as pointed out by pizzaguy. It could be a lot less expensive if you take a few basic steps to find out why the car isn't doing what you want it to. The SKREEM failure symptoms are it starts twice then nothing UNTIL you disconnect the NEG connector for a few, reconnect it, and the same thing happens again. Please tell the forum exactly what is happening when you try to START the car each time (for a total of three times). IF you get the same thing after removing the NEG cable and reconnecting it, it is most likely the SKREEM. There is a few different people who (lately) have had success in fixing this problem. Valk mentioned one, and other members have had success with others. Good luck!

Well thank you, sorry if not clear on phone doing yhis I am not the most comfortable this media thing. It clearly, abosolutely skreem issue. Classic case start a few times for a second yhen nothing. Remove battery cables. Then it repeats process of starting a few times, followed by nothing when turning key to start. Just trying to cover all angles testing. Prior to mailing these major components to a vendor cuz would be horrible if lost in mail stream
Thanks again

SOS Diagnostics (http://sosdiagnostics.com/crossfire.html) is the most experienced and a reliable source for skreem repair. I totally understand your worry if the components are lost in the mail. The mail is very slow and unreliable these days. I've had issues with a few packages being super late etc.

So since you are in Florida, you can try taking the components to MDP but be forewarned they apparently were only able to fix 5 Crossfires. You might be lucky and be number 6. Either they will be able to fix it or not, very low risk of any further damage since typically it is a software issue where the computer and skreem go out of sync.

Good luck!

No disrespect to SOS Diagnostics but Rob at Needswings is the most trusted , well known vendor here and qualified to repair / replace our SKREEM modules now
NOTE: MDP is no longer accepting our SKREEM modules and I have confirmed this with a phone call to MDP
>MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures

No disrespect to Needwings but SOS Diagnostics has been repairing skreems for Crossfires and Sprinters longer than Rob and have more experience. They have Google reviews for successful Crossfire skreems that are 4 years old, Rob only recently started repairing them.

Since she is so close to MDP (like 50 miles away), they can check it out anyway since she is worried about the mail delivery. She has nothing to lose.

You missed what Gary was saying:

Rob at Needswings is the most trusted , well known vendor here...

Rob has supported the Crossfire more than any other vendor. And NOW, after a lot of work behind the scenes, he has set up a channel to get our cars going.
I, for one, support Rob first and foremost; because he supports us.

I disagree. It is fine to support Rob but there is nothing wrong with giving people options and all the information so they can make their own decision. For the record I have ordered from Rob before. When wolfstalker came around so many jumped on the bandwagon with his super long posts. It was all MDP then it turned out they only fixed 5 cars or so. I was mentioning SOS and wolfstalker acted like he had never ever heard of them. Then some users pointed out that omg SOS had a bad review! As if no business has ever had a bad review.

I did not say Rob wasn't the most trusted well known vendor. I gave this new member all their options and explained to them who was the most experienced and that was the truth.
