THANK GOD for YOU All and MDP in FL
THANK GOD for YOU All and MDP in FL
THANK YOU ALL WHO HELPED ME DIAGNOSE MY ANTI-THEFT SYSYTEM IN FEB/MAR...
I sent my SKREEM out to MDP in Florida who as far as im concerned are the best. They didn't charge me $450 to repair my SKREEM as agreed upon but let me know it was the KEY FOB's internal parts that weren't making contact with its battery and charged me $129 instead! So thankful.
Meanwhile the shop I took it to in Vegas, that disassembled my car (3hours labor) to gain access to get into the trunk space to try and diagnose the anti-theft unit F'D UP MY TRUNK HATCH and is arguing that it didn't open when I brought it in (duh, neither did the center console because the anti-theft system wasn't actively working and locked down both areas automatically because I have a convertible). Then they pulled a COVID -19 (half our guys are and we wont be able to look at it until MAY WTBH?!
Additionally, the disassembly & reassembly of the area of the dash behind my steering wheel where the SKREEM unit is located was put back together so sloppily that now my Brake Light (which comes on and off periodically) next to my Check Engine LIGHTS UP THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TOO BECAUSE THE BULBS OR GELS WERENT ALIGNED RIGHT WHEN THEY PUT IT BACK TOGETHER!
All that was wrong was my KEY FOB needed to be repaired (which we paid MDP Directly to repair) and these guys charged me $592 in diagnostics & labor, had my car for over a month, broke my trunk, sloppily ressembled my dash, broke/cracked badly with holes in it now my driver door speaker cover and are now arguing they don't have time to repair the trunk hatch which is obviously damaged due to their lengthly explorations in trying to figure out how to find the anti-theft unit?! OMG as a woman who grew up with parents owning a three bay service station in Glen Ellyn, IL and 3 older brothers that worked on cars and a 13 year older sister that beat all three of them in Texaco auto mechanics school, Im kinda going out of my mind here! There aren't any other shops in Vegas that will work on a Crossfire that we have found. Chysler here will no longer work on them and Mercedes turned me down too.
IF ANYONE KNOWS OF A PLACE OR PERSON IN THE LAS VEGAS NEVADA AREA THAT WORKS THESE CARS, PLEASE LET ME KNOW FOR FUTURE REFERENCE!
MEANWHILE, THANK YOU FOR THE 411 ON BOTH SHOPS TO SEND SKREEM UNITS TO FOR REPAIR. AS I MENTIONED --- THANK GOD FOR MDP!
AND ALSO ROB UP IN MICHIGAN AT GOT WHEELS WAS VERY COOL WITH HIS TIME HELPING ME FIGURE THIS ALL OUT TOO.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU,
SUZZANNE

Re: THANK GOD for YOU All and MDP in FL
Remember, Y'all, The SKREEM receives the lock/unlock signals from the key fob.
The fob and its battery should have been the first thing checked given the trunk and console were locked (probably the doors too?).

How many times must members post the battery in the FOB has NOTHING to do with successfully starting the car? Getting into the car with a bad KEY FOB BATTERY would mean just use the KEY to enter the car at the drivers door. Once in the car, you just use the key in the ignition. THE CHIP in the FOB would be read by the SKREEM through the antenna ring, and the car should start sans something else wrong with the car.

Ghost,
Concur the battery in the FOB has NOTHING to do with successfully starting the car.
However, the thread starter, Michaels, never mentioned that the car wasn't starting.
He stated that the center console and trunk would not open because of the anti-theft system.
(Never mentioned the unlock button in the console under the radio...That should have opened the trunk)
It Could have been the SKREEM... but I would have checked the key fob operability first. (Easier and cheaper than sending the SKREEM to MDP for repair)
Glad MDP didn't take him for a ride and repaired his faulty fob instead of the functional SKREEM.
Although $129 sounds pricey for a simple Fob repair, I'm sure that MDP had to diagnose the SKREEM and Fob interaction to determine the actual problem.
Diagnostic time = money.
Cheers,

Yes the $129 was for diagnosing the SKREEM and key fob. It didn’t need a new fob battery. I put one of those in before I ever had it towed in the first place. It was a janky electrical connection in the one and only key fob that I had, that went bad. That’s what MDP ended up repairing. And FYI. NO THE CAR WINT START AFTER THE 2ND time when any part of the Anti-Theft is not working in sync with the whole system. Believe me. That’s a fact.
