Default Manual Top Operation

Just in case you are new here, and don't have an owner's manual, I thought I'd do a video on manual top operation.

I did my best, took (believe it or not) I THINK 12 takes - this was the best one. Sorry I could not get a hot model to stand in for me.

HEY, I uploaded in HD, what happened?

Very informative simple step by step process that anyone can appreciate if they own a Roadster and I'm sure there is no other video out there that shows the real simplicity to doing this operation

Thank You on behalf of ALL Roadster owners out there

Gary

BTW, if you don't have the "special tool" Mark talks about, a slim 10mm open end wrench will do .....
( If you don't have a slim one, make one with your grindstone and a $1 Chinese wrench. Paint it red when done to identify it and also prevent it from rusting. If you do this with a loooooong wrench, then it is a multipurpose tool for replacing the 'eyebrow' lights in the headlight assembly )

Manual Crossfire Roadster Convertible Top Operation - YouTube

HEY, I uploaded in HD, what happened?

What a great video on how to manually open a convertible top! Pizza, you didn't need a hot model to stand in for this video to get my attention. You did great. MANY THANKS. If I have to, I am confident I can now open or close my top manually.

as a new roadster owner, i can't thank you enough for the clear and concise video of the "emergency" manual top operation. it was excellently done, straight to the point and very easy to follow. thank you pizzaguy for taking the time to prepare and share it. BTW can someone list the part number (and a place to get it if other than the dealership) for a newby.

thanks

I assume you mean the "special tool" ?
I got mine from ECS Tuning, but they no longer stock it.
Try
Mercedes Tools - Mercedes Benz Special Tools & Repair Information-Tool

A208 899 00 80 or 129 581 00 66

I think I'd go with the 129 one, it says 6 MM hex, which is correct.

( this one has it at $16.90 + shipping https://www.factorymoparparts.com/oe...hoCUOwQAvD_BwE )

BUT WAIT !!!

This one has it at $19.99 with free shipping !!!! https://www.eeuroparts.com/Parts/758...BoChZUQAvD_BwE
