How to Repair Relay Control Module (RCM) - (Mystery no Start)
Re: How to Repair Relay Control Module (RCM) - (Mystery no Start)
I was really lucky finding this site. My Crossie quit at a stopsign. All the dash lights worked, it just would not crank. Because of what I learned on this thread I was able to take printouts of the RCM to my auto mechanic, who determined that 6 connections were loose. He soldered them and no problem since.
I think the two issues are the RCM and/or the crankshaft sensor? Am I correct?
I'm so grateful to the knowledge on this site. It's saved me hundreds.

They can be fixed easily.
If a relay is burnt out it can be replaced no problem.
If the car stalls when warm or fails to turn over using the starter the bad connections can be re-soldered for the price of a spot of solder.

Somebody is making a killing on a very simple fix:
2004 2008 Chrysler Crossfire Relay Control Module RCM "Rebuild Service" | eBay

Solder costs next to nothing and a relay if required costs $5 max.
I got my spare RCM for $45 plus shipping. Turbomar used a RCM with a different part number and it worked OK, no problem.

Yep. Newer version. Change of one of the fuses as far as I can see.
Anybody have extra RCM just laying around that they want to donate as a loaner I'd be glad to take them. The loaner pool is empty.
Actually loaned my coupe RCM out too!

Where did it go ?

One I pulled the relays off of.
Lost one last year. The owner never returned his bad RCM.
That's why I will only do the loan with Forum members that have been around for a while.
Actually sent FP the RCM out of my coupe so he could get back on the road. Now he has the 410 fault code using my RCM. Guess his car was more sensitive to the relay in my RCM.
