How to Manually lower or raise Top on Roadster
How to Manually lower or raise Top on Roadster
FOUND THIS AND THOUGHT IT MIGHT COME IN HANDY IT DID FOR ME,,,
RELIEVING HYDRAULIC PRESSURE
NOTE: The hydraulic pressure must be relieved before the top can manually be raised or lowered.
1. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position.
2. Push down on the convertible top switch and hold in that position.
3. Turn the ignition "OFF" and continue to push down on the switch 5 seconds.
4. After 5 seconds the hydraulic system pressure will be relieved.
NOTE: Make sure the rear cargo compartment divider is secured in its vertical position.
1. Lower the windows and open the doors.
2. Unlock the top from the windshield header by pulling the handle down and turning it clockwise just past a quarter turn.
Push up on the convertible top release handle to create a gap between the header and top of approximately 8 inches (200 mm). Once the top is free, rotate the release handle back to its stored position.
Open the decklid and unlock the rear bow by inserting an allen wrench into the rear bow latch (1) and turning counterclockwise.
· Close the decklid.
· Lift up on the rear bow and secure in the vertical position.
Insert the multifunction tool (supplied with vehicle) into gap in front of the tonneau cover and rotate counterclockwise until the tonneau cover is released.
Lift the tonneau cover up and support in the vertical position.
· Lower the top assembly into the top storage compartment.
1. · Lower the tonneau cover.
NOTE: If the top is being serviced, do not lock the tonneau cover at this time.
2. Insert the multifunction tool (supplied with vehicle) into gap in front of the tonneau cover and rotate clockwise until the tonneau cover is locked.

Re: How to Manually lower or raise Top on Roadster
Yea, found that in the manual, but I can't "open the decklid" to insert the tool in that latch-thing under the cover! THAT is where I hit the brick wall.
If I can only figure out how to trick the car into thinking the lid is closed, the top will go down electrically... haven't got that far with the service manual... can't seeem to find the documentation on the wiring from the deck lid sensor/switch - don't know if it goes to the BCM, TopCM or just where it goes. I am NOT afraid to cut/splice wires in order to trick it into thinking the lid is closed!
See, now that I realized my coat is not in there, I am a little pissed that it might not be my fault at all... cept SOMETHING is keeping the lid from closing all the way, and that something is surely the reason the release won't work!!!! I can feel the "spongy resistance" of SOMETHING caught in it when I try to open the decklid.
Oh, crap, wrong thread.. Sorry!

Re: How to Manually lower or raise Top on Roadster
1. bad battery / battery cables / ground connection.
2. water in the central locking pump / security system module.
Do the interior lights and trunk light work ?
If not, try replacing fuse 9 in the underhood fuse panel.

Interior/trunk lights work, I got the trunk open by pulling the latch. The battery is on the jump box, even when the car is running it still has no response. [QsUOTE=ala_xfire;855700]Sounds like :
