Great write up, thanks.

Cubbie ordered for $54.95 shipped through oediscountparts.com.

And for the record, the OEM cup holder is no match for a little girls elbow.

After discovering my cup holder was in perfect shape and i didn't want to take the chance of breaking it, I bought a double cup holder with a cell phone holder and a flat surface uder it at advance auto for a mere seven dollars. I slipped the flat part between the console and passenger seat.It works perfectly, stays in place and doesn't impede on my wife's room when she is in the car with me.....

I would suggest putting some felt or other type of tape on the sides that rub against the seat/console. You would not believe how much damage hard plastic does to seats and interior surfaces, which would hurt (God forbid) your trade in value (most here would like to keep their XF's into the afterlife).

Just did this procedure, owned the car a week, first mod. I would also add that the mirrors wires do not have to be disconnected, plastic tab pulls out and gives more wire room. And the pnuematic hose in the console is for operating the convertible top. Thanks for the write up.

I believe the air line is for the console lid lock.

Welcome to the forum, there is a lot to learn here.

You get 5 out of ten for this write up, as James says the air line is for the console lock and fitted to the roadsters only.

The OEM bin can be removed without taking the console out again, pinch in the sides and it just comes out, mine does anyway.

Hi all... Thanks to SkineeMinee for the detailed cupholder removal instructions. I thought I would photograph the process to help others dealing with this. I knocked the front part of my cupholder off, and it will not stay closed without that part (annoying). So I decided to take it apart and disable the spring. Once I got it apart though, I realized I could fix it. Now it is back to being good as new and does not get stuck anymore. Make sure you clean all the parts well once it is opened up. Spilled soda = sticky parts. Good luck out there.

USPRB1976 - thank you tons for taking some pictures. I was getting caught up on some of the console removal stuff and probably nearly broke the trim surrounding the cup holder in the process. I'll probably give this thing a go tonight. I really don't care as much about the cup holder working or the bin existing as much as I car about keeping that dang thing down permanently! lol

As the original writeup says (for the definition of picture three), " Picture 3 is the el-cheapo WallyWorld cupholder (TSI Products Wedgie Auto Cupholder. UPC 739214351119, $4.86 Plus Tax!". WallyWorld is Wal-Mart.

You can get it at a few places, use the part number and search.

It can be ordered for $54.95 shipped through oediscountparts.com.

Thanks!
I have the same problem as JesseJames. Does anyone have a part number for the saturn bin? Sorry but $50 is just ridiculous for that piece of plastic. It makes me not want to get it just on principal.
