MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures
Re: MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures
They discovered that these modules fail in many different ways and they were only able to repair 4 of them successfully.
They were overwhelmed and yet grateful to all who contacted them and sent them a SKREEM for repair
Unfortunately they were not able to repair many of them as it turn out
Re: MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures
Precision ECU will eliminate the Skreem, I just had it done and the car starts without the skreem installed. I am very happy to have the Crossfire back on the road.

We got our SKREEM back from SOS Diagnostics this afternoon. Went straight to the dealer's parking lot where the car has been sitting (immobilized) for weeks. Reinstalled the SKREEM and the ECU and the car started right up! Car is now happily back in the garage at home. Can't recommend the people at SOS enough!
Re: MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures
$650 including diagnostics and return shipping. Note that they were also able to restore the remote function which had died with the SKREEM failure. The cost also includes a lifetime warranty on the work so we are covered should it fail again (in the same way).
Screem Repair
As I stated previously .... my 2005 Crossfire sat for 8 months with a faulty Screem module... waited on the list with Needswing.com
finally searched out and found SOS Diagnostics in Oregon.
Mailed them out my Screem, keys etc.
5 days later returned with a reprogrammed Screem and new keys... car started right up... lifetime guarantee on the Screem ... my cost was $650.
Chad was great to work with... recommend them highly👍

Yes MDP repairs SKREEM modules and components.
Also Rob from GetWings.com just sent this message in an email today but my Anti-Theft is already repaired, working well again BUT IN CASE ANYONE ELSE NEEDS SKREEM REPAIR HELP — =inheritHello, We are now able to repair your existing SKREEM and create more keys so long as your old SKREEM isn’t physically damaged (and even sometimes so). We are ready and are excited to get these cars back to life. How many keys do you have for the car?
Thanks, Rob

Re: MDP can no longer help with our SKREEM failures
We experienced a skreem unit failure in January, 2020 which was evident by the car attempting to start twice and then not starting at all. Several months prior we had the problem of the panic alarm sounding at strange times and resolved the issue by removing the No. 9 fuse. While solving the unintended panic alarm issue, removing the fuse also disables the remote, the interior light, the dash lights, the horn and the ability to lock the rear hatch. On 1/28/20 I sent MDP the failed skreem unit, ECM and a remote key. A few days later they reported that the skreem unit was not reparable. However, at that time they did offer a new skeem unit. In late February I received the new skreem unit programmed to the ECM and two new Crossfire remote keys. The cost was $1190 plus tax and shipping. We reinstalled everything and the car operated as expected. In addition, we replaced fuse No. 9 and have not experienced any unintended panic alarms. One has to wonder whether the unintended panic alarms were a signal that the skreem unit was nearing the end of its operational life.

Someone may have mentioned this but SOS Diagnostics in Canby Oregon can fix them. Maybe you knew that.

I put up an extensive post on alarms on Facebook last week. It’s in the Crossfire tech group. There are a couple of less expensive alternatives than the brand new alarm and most of them give you the lock/unlock beep that the new alarm provides. The new alarm is between 149.99-189.99$ that I’ve seen. Some of the used ones on eBay are between 30$ and 70$ and are tested. Just throwing that out there in case you didn’t want to pay that high premium for an alarm. Nice to hear another XF back on the road from a failed SKREEM. Bet you that was a great feeling getting behind the wheel again!!!

Well I went and talked yo MDP in pinellas park. They were extremely curtious, polite and informant. However they are not doing xfires anymore. Mostly because they did have supply of new skreems on hand but now all gone. The repair issues some where software somewhere hardware. Since they no longer have avail new skreems and if they cant give customers options on repairs, they have decided its best to no longer test are except modules. They actually had .purchased 2 xfires for troubleshooting. But has sold them so its a no go. But good people. On to next step.
