skreem module
skreem module
FYI, I have an account with Mercedes and spoke to there parts department about getting a module from them. They have 600 in available, but will not sell them except for a Mercedes. The list price is $270.00 for the module. The local Chrysler Dealer told me they are working on a supplier, hopefully by Oct. 15th but do not expect them to be available before December. Chrysler list is $577.00.
I would also like to have a spare one just in case.

Re: skreem module
So this is pretty scary. I had what's sounds like the skreem module issue where the the car just died, lights worked etc... all dash warning lights illuminated but just no cranking of the engine. My mechanic just disconnected the battery let is sit a while and reconnected the battery. The car and remote worked again. But if the module is bad this will probably keep crapping out.

Re: skreem module
Are you saying since my mechanic was able to get is running by disconnecting the battery and then connecting it that it's probably another issue? And is so what can it be? Could it be a relay? Just strange reading the threads the symptoms I had were just like those that had skreem issues

Also, if you sit there for 30 seconds wiht the key "ON", the engine fan will warp up to warp speed - due to no tickle pulses from the ECM (since it is not powered up in such cases).
Sounds like a bad RCM to me. Yank it and ship it to DJ or order a new one.
But again, this is based on what few words you typed, it is not a firm diagnosis.

Ditto; contact DJ, aka: tighed1. Note; RCM (contains relays, circuit board & fuses) located near battery under it's cover & is a common Crossfire weakness & a different "animal" than the "Skreem": not talking about that here. The one I bought (called computer control module), from PartsGeek, was oem & remove/reinstall is pretty much plug & play, lots of prior posts here w/photos.
