BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
Hello,
It has been awhile now, and neither problem has come back. There is no longer a P0410 code, or any other codes. The BAS/ESP light problem has also gone away.
Although the Dealer was expensive (what dealer isn't?), they performed the work when they said they would, corrected the problems entirely, and honored the warranty without even charging us a penny. It was fortunate that we had a warranty, and a Dealer that would honor it.
We have been driving Pearl around quite a bit before the warranty expires, in case something else pops up.
Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions.
John & Terry

Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
Your friend in Canada provided that picture and it came with a caveat, one of the fuses appeared to have two functions and I am not sure if that is true. I kept saying I would look into it more but I never did.
Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
I was kind of confused by that. When I replaced my fuel filter, I pulled the one marked 4 (singularly), tried starting the car , with no response an lost only about 1/4 cup of fuel out of the lines. Caps on the filter ends an Olla ,I was done. But, I kept wondering, "what's up with that other fuse powering the fuel pump too?"
Sorry John this has nothing to do with your OP.
Edit: curiosity got the best of me, so I pulled the doubled marked fuse, car started an ran fine....reminder, its leave season, clean out your cowl cover.

Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
No it did not, that IS the air pump relay fuse. Had to double check. Let engine cool an you only have 2 1/2 minutes of the pump running time to probe wires an pull fuses. Could have pulled RCM an force run it, but the "honey-do-list" is today!!!
Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
I think, I understand why one fuse has a duel purpose,it's just not in that configuration. The 04 manual, 8W-10 pg.20,21 shows the engine control relay and the air pump relay begin tied together. Its showing engine control fuse 1an 2. 2 being tied together to the air pump relay. Testing across the fuses ,all are hot ,except 3 and 5, then when you turn the ignition on, they are energized together....
Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
lf these two sensors are out then I would think that for safety sake the cruise would shut down, it shuts down if the car seems out of control.
Re: BAS ESP Light comes on intermittently
You'd like to hope so but that doesn't seem to be the case. Cruise worked fine when my Yaw Sensor was out. I can't 100% say the Steering Angle Sensor wouldn't disable it also but that seems to be the findings here. Some are reporting cruise works with the BAS/ESP light on, some aren't. It has to just be a matter of which sensor has failed.
