Maybe your speed caused it? You went so fast that it froze up?

Sorry, I had to say it.

I don't have any idea what the issue could be.

I've experienced the same thing, exept I thought the cold air was coming from the gear shift area (I have an automatic). It's almost like the car flexes and cold air comes in from the outside.

The vents have dampers in them that could possibly open .

Well I'm thinking its flex. Because I was doing something in the dash, and I had it apart and saw how the vents were connected. On the my left side vent was almost off the vent. Meaning the hose was just hanging there by a thread. So I had thought maybe I had lost a clip or a screw or something. Nope they did it just like the stock air inlet hoses on the intake. Totally half assed.

Mine does it as well. Turning sharp left or right there is a rush of cold air that comes across what appears to be the middle of the car. Def. half assed something.
