Pizzaguy posted a great video on how to drop it manually. Do a forum search and it will come right up. You can find it on utube too.

To manually put the top down.
1. lower both windows.
2. release the top "D" handle and raise the front about 6"
3. open the trunk, use a 6 mm allen wrench to release the rear bow latch. Make sure the divider is in the "top lowered" position, close the trunk.
4. raise the rear bow, release the tonneau cover with a thin 10mm open end wrench, or the special tool.
5. holding the tonneau open ( helps to have a friend ), carefully lower the top.
6. close the tonneau cover, secure it with the 10mm or special tool.

Mark points out the location of the above 2 latches in his video.
( AND - his video DOES cover lowering the top )

Wrong - I went to great lengths to help people in your situation. Go back and watch the WHOLE video.

Good luck at the "shop", that's gonna be a real "Dr. Phil" moment.

Is it possible to manually lower and raise the top when the trunk separator panel is missing? Just bought a roadster and this panel is gone out of the trunk. Please advise. Harold hdmobley@***.net

Can the top be lowered and raised manually without the trunk separator panel in the trunk. I just bought a roadster and that panel is gone. I have watched your video several times and it mentions the fact that this panel needs to be correctly positioned. I assume that means the top cannot be lowered and raised without it, even manually. But I would like to have that confirmation from the expert. Thank you for the excellent video. Harold Mobley hdmobley@***.net

If the panel is missing, go ahead and move the top manually - just be sure nothing is in the way in the trunk that can damage the top - the divider is there only to protect the top.

We had another member "thinking" the panel was gone.. when in fact it was just laid down.. when looking in the trunk.. do you see the tank and wires for the sending unit? Or a carpet with a handle hole in the middle at the top edge..
