Roof issue returns
Roof issue returns
hi, for three weeks i have had trouble free motoring, but this morning the windows started to drop again when driving. they drop intermittently and a faint clicking can be heard from the left rear of the car.
all the switches have been checked along with the battery. the roof has not been lowered as it is currently too cold.
any ideas as to why the problem has returned.

See if this (CLICK)has any bearing on the problem. It is a post by pizzaguy he knows about the roof so maybe there is something to be gleaned from the post.
I'd guess that the clicking is the trunk locking, but I know nothing about these roofs. There is probably a short that says the top is about to be opened and starts the cycle.

The top pump module is in the left rear, and it's the guy that gets the signal to lower the top, so the first thing he does is signal the windows to drop when the "D" handle is turned and the top is partially raised. This signal comes from the "top raised" switch, the one above the passenger's right ear.
One member recently reported that he found the mounting screws for this switch loose, seems they provide a ground for the circuit.
