Default #@##**&%%# RATS and Wires.

Well, some Rat bastards got up under my hood and did a real number to my wiring harness. I'm debating whether to repair or replace it. If I replace it I have to pull the whole thing out and that doesn't look like fun. Have any of you done this and just how much of a PITA is it? At age 67 I don't relish working under the dash for more than a few minutes. I can handle the $550 for a new harness.

Do you have comp coverage on the car?

Good suggestion JSK, I didn't even think of that. The answer is yes I do. I didn't think they would cover that kind of thing but I will sure check it out. Thanks!

JSK, you are a life saver. They do cover it. If you are ever in the Pasadena CA Area, I'll take you and yours to dinner. 626-795-2476. Leave a message and I'll return it promptly. I don't answer unless I recognize who's calling. Too many telemarketers. Thanks again.

Yes Valk, I found a Mercedes specialist with great reviews, and even more important, no negative ones. Great thing about the internet, the crooks and the incompetent get exposed.

Another issue Valk, I was almost at the senior member level but my posts now read 800 and change. What happened? I think it's time for me to attain that coveted status lol.

Hey Max just glad its working out. I have always carried higher deductibles on collision but always had full comp. If I cause the damage shame on me but if not my fault I don't want to take money out of my pocket for the repairs. My insurance agent says I'm about the last customer of his to carry full comp. I haven't caused damage since 1973 but I've had a lot of weather, critter and vandal related damage so I guess its paid off for me.

The number to achieve senior status keeps rising, well over a thousand now. Heck I think I just made it.

The status level as it pertains to number of posts is not something I as an admin can not control
Currently 1200 posts will bring "Senior" status to a member on the forum and 400 posts I believe is "Regular" member status

Yes, I hit the 1000 mark and was surprised it had risen to 1200. So I was at about 1050 when they lowered my posts to 800+ . I don't know what happened. All my posts were solid posts. Well, I guess I'll never be one of the good ol' boys as I will probably sell my SRT6 before I hit the magic number. I'm hanging on to it because it's a roadster and the supply of those is pretty thin. The prices reflect that already. Who knows. I still love it and plan on taking it to the twisty track come spring. My Maserati Quattroporte is my daily driver now. I want to keep the mileage low on the SRT. I miss arguing with you buddy

I always assumed senior was based on members age and I didn't have senior designation because I'm so young

I am sorry to hear about the troubles you are having. When I worked at Toyota we used to see cars come in all the time with chewed up harnesses.
I am assuming that the damage is to the engine harness? If so, would you be willing to sell the damaged harness?

A dash full of codes on 11,000 mile Jaguar is a scary sight. Four chewed wires was the cause. I never thought to call the insurance company.

Good information to have.

You must have been using something like an iPad for your first post attempt here. Sometimes mine thinks it knows what I am going to say if I mis key a word and what comes out is gobbledegook, real words that mean nothing when put together.
Can you get one that repels people?
I know you can buy gizmos that ruin the cell phone signal that the annoying person next to you is using on his cell. This results in lots of hello hellos to a scrambled call, illegal but lots of fun I'm told.
