Sorry, I was referring to the caps that I got from Max.
The comment Max made and I referred to was the clue to what I was referring to, Remember way-back-when 2007.
I remember where the relays came from, I did not forget you at all.

OK, my bad. Once again I failed to read your mind correctly.
( I can't remember back to 2007, much less back to 2014 )

8 years later and I'm back again looking for a RCM relay AZ970-1A-12D. Checked ebay but only see AZ970-1C-12D. I'm in the Toronto area if anyone has one or if someone has one and is willing to ship. Thanks

I have two of these, I ordered back when this thread was active in 2015. I guess I don't need them, since DJ rebuilt my RCM last November AND I bought a spare RCM at that time as well.

I’d be interested if you want to let go of one. DM me if that might work for you. Thanks

WOW, shipping to CANADA is like shipping to JAPAN.

Relays shipped today. I'm not out of relays.

We are a different country even though we are next door neighbours so the same rules apply as to other countries, we have the same problem when shipping to the US.

Hi Pizzguy. What is the PN on those relays you have. If they are suitable for use in the RCM, and you have extras, I'd like to buy a couple. I just ordered AZ970-1C-12D (308) to compare with the original part. "Supposed" to be 40amp.

Look at the photo I posted above, the part number is on them.
That' all I had, I sent the other guy my last two.

Right from Zettlers site the one you speak of is a 30A SPDT, mine (and the factory part) is a 40A SPST.
Not saying yours will not work, might need to cut the one lead off (if there is no hole for it in the board, just cut it off). I think the pinout is the same and none of the loads on those relays is 40amp, anyway.

I may have found two different sources for correct SPST-NO relays but not from Zettler. Gotta make a couple of calls when I get a chance. They may not sell to individuals and have to go thru a dealer. Still going to look at the relay I ordered if it will surfice. Thanks

I found it strange that the Standard Motor Products RY-1562 RCM Relay Assembly, (made in China), says that the contacts are made of aluminum. Seems they at least should be nickle plated contacts. Maybe it's just a misprint!

They accidently told you the truth about their product.

Replaced the engine relay this evening. Found out my soldering pencil was woefully under wattage. (My soldering gun has a broken tip.) Needed some wicking braid cause the solder sucker just wasn't doing it very well), Relay PN 5706 is what I removed from my RCM and that is what I put back in. Had to cut outer contact leg off as well as one frame leg as they did not match up with the board holes. With a little bending of the solder lugs I was able to "make" it fit. I'll install the RCM tomorrow and see how it goes. Been using my spare RCM and now this questionable RCM relay change will be my spare should things work out well.

There are two patterns for this relay, the European one and the North American one. The one you want is the European one. You would have been wise to order the correct part number. I had input way back in 2013 concerning these relays, see attached files below and started a thread on the subject. I have two spare relays I got from pizzaguy as well as a spare RCM., you can never be too safe with the RCM.
For a minimum order of 10, try this company CLICK

The correct part number is almost non-existant anymore! I searched the net for two days for a source without success. After looking at several data sheets 5706 is the best I could do "AND" as it turned out that's what PN I removed. I had already asked Pizzaguy if he had any spares and he said they were long gone. This RCM was intermittantly working showed no visible signs of problems. After ohming out the coils and contact continuity decided to "play" around with relay replacement. The relay, which I removed, was probably ok as it was working and the contacts were not pitted or discolored. Don't believe the fuel pump relay to be faulty. Thank you for the two links you provided.

RCM repair update: Installed repaired RCM this morning and "so far" all is working just fine. Been driving two or three places and no starting problems but I guess time will tell. Never discovered any proof positive that the relay was failing cause it continued to work. Coil resistance check was good as well as the contacts looked great. Solder joints looked good as well.

Sorry for hijacking xfireon20z's thread but it's related. The 5706 relays, (the one I used) , will work with a little effort to make it fit.

DJ is getting relays SOMEWHERE, but they may not be exact fit. As you, ROmad, know, you can modify a SPDT relay by cutting off one pin.
I have not looked to see what DJ used in mine, hate to tear into it AGAIN. And I can say the relays in the new SLK230 version I bought are electrically the same but physically different.

I guess we gotta remember, our RCMs go back almost 20 years now. Getting EXACT replacement relays may be a pipe dream now, but not all hope is lost, if the DPDT version can be adapted, we are still good.

I do have ONE relay left, it was in my box of switches and bezels for some reason. Makes me think there may be one or two more I don't realize I have.

Had I thought about it, I could have drilled a hole in the board to fit the right rear frame lug instead of cutting it off. It was a close fit that could have been soldered to the trace just the same. Electrically, "it appears", it's one of 4 frame points so now I'm just using three.

A NEW RELAY REVELATION TO SHARE!
I got to looking at the relay I removed from the RCM and the ones I ordered PN's 5706 and AZ970-1C-120-(308). The one that I had removed is PN 5706 and is what I reinstalled. There is no way that the AZ970-120-(308) will be anyway near fitting. It is physically smaller and the solder lug pattern is really quite different. So PN 5706 will work will a little effort. PN 5706 on left of picture.
