How to remove door panels????
How to remove door panels????
Just wanted to know how to take them off, I work at a body shop and do this all the time but, when it's your car you tend to take more care not to break things I cant get past the pull handels. do they have a cover that comes off or what. I went to the dealer by me and the only crossfire tech didn't even know. I need to fix the window from going up to high.
Thanks.
Thanks.

You understand that the cover that has to be removed is actually on the door handle itself to expose the screw underneath. That description I gave you was right out of the manual.
Re: How to remove door panels????
I don't know about the xfire in particular but on a lot of cars you just have to pull firmly and they'll pop off. Most door panels are attached with grommets or something that you must replace once you remove them. The pop in easy but hard to pop out. You can reuse them but then everything will be slightly loose. I don't know why the xfire would be any different..
Re: How to remove door panels????
I know and understand how most cars are, I work in a body shop. Some fords have only screws that hold the panel against the door and the panel need to be slid up to be removed. So you cant pull every pad off thinking that this is the way it comes off. The only thing I wasn't shure of was how to get to the screws under the pull bar but I did find out how. The xfire is not like most cars, there is alot better quality built in.
Thanks anyway,
