Default Grinding gears

One night, I was driving home. A prelude blew by me. I wasn't impressed, but I did want to show him that the X-fire is not the car to mess with. Well, I put the car into second floored it, pressed the clutch, put it into third...SLIP!!! my hand slipped off the shift **** while I was letting off the clutch. All I heard was the grinding of gears. I probably shifted at around 5500 rpm. How bad is this on the tranny? This is the first time that this has happened to me.

Default Re: Grinding gears

If that's the first time it happened there probably wasn't any major damage caused. Grinding gears is something we all do, no matter how long we've been driving a manual gearbox.
