Exclamation Possible Skreem Module?

Hey guys,

So I ordered a new key fob casing since my old key is falling apart. I swapped all the parts over to the new casing and the car locked and unlocked with no problems. However I tried to start the car and the engine turned over for a second and then died. This happened twice and after that the engine wouldn't turn over. I disconnected the battery for a few minutes and tried again and the same thing happened, I only tried to start the car once because of all the scares I've heard about frying the hardware.

Does this sound like a SKREEM module that chose to go out on me the second I get a new key casing? I tried the reprogramming as well and nothing has worked.

This car is my daily driver and I need to get to work in the morning.

Please Help!

Sounds like the rfid chip got dropped.. or not seated just where it's supposed to be! Mine was about 1/4 inch slid back.. (case didn't quite close right) and had this symptom..

It would be too much of a coincidence for the SKREEM to fail at the same time as the fob was switched out. Did you actually put that little chip that is situated at the very front inside the chip into the new fob?
Did it slip out of the fob or out of position?

Never mind! I just figured it out! I never figured that little chip was anything but a piece of plastic. All set now. This forum rocks!
