My brother thinks I need to drive further to recharge the battery or buy a battery tender. I drive the car every day but for short distances. With a good battery and good alternator how far should one have to drive (no more than 40 mph) to recharge the battery after starting it when using the radio, AC and recirculate feature?
My understanding is the recirculating air system is supposed to shut off if voltage is low...
My thoughts would be check and clean your battery terminals.. and follow the ground wire to it's connection and clean it. Users have found that to be an issue on occasion.

My suggestion is to check the battery voltage, when idle, when ticking over and when driving. When driving check to see if the voltage on a digital volt meter plugged into the cigarette lighter outlet goes down after putting on a few miles.
These meters can be purchased from Walmart and other places for a couple of bucks. Worth the investment.
See Pizzaguy's post on this matter.

It started instantaneously. He also said that the alternator checked good. He said there must be something draining the battery. Can the RCM problem cause the battery to drain?

Basis for my response, but It never hurts to double check these things.

I have found that my 06 crossfire wont start, even though all electrics work there is a ground wire that is not making a good connection. haven't had time to trace it yet but when i punch the black wiring box in the engine compartment on the passenger's side it starts.
