Needswings CAI with stock engine cover. Possible?
Needswings CAI with stock engine cover. Possible?
Has anyone tried to trim the stock engine cover to fit it with NW single or double CAI?
I assume NW team would offer it if it were possible, but I'd be surprised if no one here has ever tried it, considering the incredible mods you all achieve

Thought about it.. looked it over.. and decided not a winning Idea. Notice your cover mounts are attached to the filter box bottom. Those filter boxes would have to come off for room for the tube or tubes, then carve out around the throttle body for access, then figure out a decent mount system for the cover. More work on a let's see and hope, not to mention then you scramble to a plan B.. LOL. Oh yeah, then there's fill and contour where you carved so it looks decent again.
So I just ran dual tubes off the stock box "hot air intake" and sat back. Search for Longhorn for my full saga..
Last week the MB cover used on Needswing intakes fell into my lap for $25 off Craigslist, so time for more tubing and get rid of the heat soaking OEM cover.

( see my picture )
At car shows, I get many comments about the 'Mercedes' engine in a Chrysler,
If it were not for the MB engine cover, many would not know.
