Hi @ all,

in the case of fuel gauge I have the same problem after replace OEM odo to CLK AMG odo too. Everything works fine but the fuel gauge doesn´t work!

After read all instruction about wiring between OEM and AMG odo and spend a couple time with MB Star diagnostic i got it!

There is a point in MB Star diagnostic development mode that you could move the graph from OEM fuel gauge to the graph of AMG odo and it works rigt now. They will fix in main PCM of your engine.

It calls in german language:

Tankkennlinie
Tank-Reserve-Wert

Or try to move from "Normaler Sensorwert" to "Direkter Sensorwert", maybe it will works too.

OMG!!! You are amazing! I will switch back to the AMG gauges now, and try to find someone with STAR that is willing to help!

Vielen Dank Max!!!

You'll probably need a dedicated performance shop or a friend (Rudy), since you need DAS/Xentry in Development mode, which is supposed to be off-limits to everyone but is really easily cracked and hence off-limits to only dealers and those who abide by the rules (some independent techs, although most with a performance bent will unlock dev mode anyway).

Tonight I put the AMG gauges back in... WOW I had missed those things.

The fuel gauge should be remedied this weekend...

Hey, I just purchased one of those amg gauge clusters and would like to do it right the first time so I can have the fuel gauge to work properly. If anyone can help an amatuer, I would greatly appreciate it!

Send Rudy (rcompart) a PM on here and tell him I sent ya... not sure if he still has access to the software necessary, but if so, you're golden.

Unfortunately before I got the fuel issue sorted out, my white car was totaled. I was told that you'll need Star-DAS (development mode) to change the fuel graph from AMG to standard Mercedes-Benz if swapping into a Limited.

Hmmm interesting thread......I have swapped the drive train and instr cluster from an srt6 into my N/A over a year ago and the only thing I could not get working was the fuel gauge. Now it seems with the post I just read that the srt6 and N/a have different settings in the ecm? Should I have set it for the srt6 I assume both sending units are the same.

Sending units are the exact same part number, based on what Rudy told me. There was a new S/U part number implemented in models produced 2006+, but production on the SRT was finished by then.

For some reason Mercedes coded them differently (not sure why, as tank size & S/U are the same).

My local Mercedes repair shop uses Autologic and couldn't hack the code. You'll need the legitimate Star-DAS with development mode, and knowing someone who speaks German wouldn't hurt.
