Default Car Service / 40,000 Miles

Hello Everybody
Terry from LongIsland, NY...
after a year of ownership this beautiful roadster, I'll need to bring it for car service
it's now 40 KMiles, last oil change / filters was done a year ago (when I bough it) at 36 KMiles

I know nothing about engines, and have a limited trust in the local dealer, then, what should be done and check to be sure ? the asked $ 135 for oil change ...and around $200 for transmission checking... ????

also I have 2 leaks (please see below)... what do you think about it ???
the car was parked in the garage since last Xmas (snow...), started regurlaly but less than 200 miles done for the last 3 months...

Thank you for your advices and if you can recommend a local mechanic who does and like XFire.....!

The first photo looks like the oil filter might be a little loose. Not sure about the second photo.

$135 sounds about right for an oil change for a Crossfire. It takes a lot of oil, and it is synthetic, so it is expensive.

I agree with 6000rpm, about the 1st photo and it also could be that the top "O" ring is not in the right slot if it is, it just needs tightening to proper torque tightness. I also don't know what the 2nd photo is showing.

I definitely agree. Check to make sure that all of your O-Rings are there and are seated properly. Something isn't sealing properly so the oil is able to come back up the threads and seep out.

I recently purchased my Xfire from SmithHaven Chrysler in St. James.

Smithhaven Chrysler is your Number 1 Source for Certified Pre Owned Vehicles in New York 877-252-7192

The Certified Xfire Tech at SmithHaven is Jimmy.

Jimmy recently fixed my Valve Cover oil leak, and did a decent job, so I'll continue to use them till they show me otherwise.

My utimate goal is to find a quality independant Mercedes Tech in the Queens/Long Island area.

If one crosses your path......ping, post, or shoot me a PM (Private Message)...

Thanx...

Bought mine from Grand Prix Chrysler in Hicksville. Their service department isn't cheap but they do know what they're doing when it comes to my Crossfire. I find them quite reliable. See if you can get Raymond Voesack as your service writer should you want to go there. He's the best.

AIG, thanx for the info on Chysler in Hicksville.

I'm in Bayside and cruise out to Long Island often.

Maybe when the weather warms a little, we can hook up somewhere out East, view each others ride, and talk shop.

I'll ping you after March Madness...LOL...
