Default Wont automatically start?

I test drove an 04 Coupe earlier this week and it did something funny... it would not automatically start like every other XF I have sat in.

The engine would only crank over while I held the key in the start position. Now, it DID start quick and easy, but when I first did my usual "turn it to start and let go"... it quit cranking right away.

Anyone seen this before? Is this normal as the car ages? Is this sign of an aging battery?

That's the way the ignition switch works in a 6 speed.

Are you serious? There is THAT much of a difference? The "autocrank" or whatever we'd call it is not included in a 6 speed?

Well, the car has the original battery ... I was thinking that was it.

Ok, I can live with it of it's normal.... continuing my search, looking for a Limited 6 speed Roadster, found one in Columbia, IL!
