Default XENON HEADLAMPS

I was really dissapointed that this wasn't an option on the Xfire as they make a real differance for night driving.

However I saw an advert for some new replacement headlamp bulbs that are called ultraXenon eg 60% more light and distance with the blue hue.

They are made by 'Ring' and should be in the shops by the time the Crossfire is with us in the UK.

I dont know about the US spec of lamps.

 Should look cool with sapphire silver, 6 speed coming in November.

So they have halogens? weird.. i wouldnt waste time with xenon bulbs, just get a hid retrofit kit(or two, since there are two sets of proejectors), they come stock with projectors, so you don't have to worry about the glare associated with most hid retrofit kits on non-projector headlamps..

later..

I thought I saw...maybe on the UK site, that the Quad H Light System was self-leveling.

Has anyone read/heard this also?

I'm sure the eurospec lights are better, as we in the US usually get screwed royally when it comes to factory lighting..

Does the European version of the Crossfire have the dual fog lamps with one of them being adjustable?

I've noticed that the fog lamp switch in the Crossfire has two positions you can pull out to, so I'm assuming that in Europe, they have the second set of adjustable level fog lights.

The second fog lamp position is for rear fog lamps. Not available in U.S.

I have read that after-market HID kits are going to become illegal in the US very soon. Something like a $1000 fine per day. I will try and find a link.

I know... if I can get them (once I get the Crossfire) I will. It is going to be illegal come 8/15/03 for MANUFACTURERS to sell them in the USA. So you will have to look on the grey/black market to get them. Manufacturers will be fined $5000 per day if they continue to sell them.

another option, which alot of vw guys do is, buy used hid setups from bodyshops, as in some cars when the headlight housing is damaged, the oem replacements don't come without hid's..

The problem lies in the housing not the bulb,,,,the dot gets hundreds of complaints everyday regarding hid being too bright, the solution will be to manufacture a housing that will accomidate a HID bulb....
