Here is what Renntech offers for the engine in the SLK 320. I don't know if these will be offered for the Crossfire yet, but I e-mailed them, and I'll see what they say. I put the name of the modification, the hp increase, the lb/ft. increase, the total hp and the price. Each package includes everything in the previous package.

ECU Performance Upgrade - 10hp - 12lb/ft - 225hp - $1,595
Carbon Fiber Air Box - 15hp - 14lb/ft - 230hp - $2,495
Sport Muffler - 22hp - 24lb/ft - 237hp - $3,350
3.8L Torque Conversion - 47hp - 65lb/ft - 262hp - $9,985
Camshafts and ported/polished cylinder heads - 76hp - 73ft/lb - 291hp - $14,995
Supercharger and intercooler - 179hp - 181ft/lb - 404hp - $22,995

Obviously all of these are very costly, and I don't know if they're really worth it. Although for the price of an SLK 320 you can have a Crossfire with 262 hp and for the price of an SLK32 AMG you can have a Crossfire with 50 more hp.

Great research & info there. I'm getting my shopping list ready now Will probably do the first two items right away. That's probably a performance increase you can feel. Not quite ready to start tearing into the engine. Thanks for the info.
SSB 6 speed (soon to be faster  )

They will in fact be offering those upgrades, as well as others. To get the complete price list, click below.

Yes, I had the RennTech price list for the R170 platform and it looks like they matched it up with new layout for the Crossfire.

The first two items look reasonable. I assume doing this will void warranty?

Yes, I'm pretty sure it will void warranty. Chrysler will however need to prove that any problems you experience were caused by your modifications. You can also remove them before you take it in for service. I don't know how easy/hard that would be however.

Just heard some more from Renntech. The ECU upgrade will actually be around $995, so $600 less than originally thought. There will not be a carbon fiber air-box yet though.

That's nice to hear.

I did notice that they did goof a little on their cut-and-paste into the Crossfire.

There is a ** that indicates that they raised the limiter to 180MPH, I don't think the Crossfire is electronically limited, I believe it is drag limited.

This is from an e-mail I received from Renntech:

"The ECU mods will give faster throttle response, 200 extra rpms 1st and 2nd and top speed set to 186."

Thats in addition to the 10 extra horsepower it gets from the engine. I don't know if the Crossfire is electronically limited, or if it is and it hits its drag top speed first. I guess there must be something in the chip, if they can change it.
