Default Replacing the entire Chrysler wing on the leading edge of the hood?

I'm not overly impressed with the flying wing that mounts to the leading edge of the hood. Is there a way to replace it with something? Billet piece? Sheetmetal? I saw one pic of a hood with it removed. Has a few bolt holes but its not flat... It would be nice if it could be painted to match or maybe some other contrasting finish. Any ideas??

I have seen one picture where someone painted over it to match the car. I think it was a black car.

Can't say I'm a fan of the wing either. My car is debadged and I'm sure a lot of folks wonder what kind of car it is that I am driving. The big identifying mark is, the wing with the Chrysler emblem.
Wonder what it would look like and cost to get the emblem removed and filled in?

I'm sure a body shop that does custom mods would be happy to do it. I'd love to get rid of my side strakes and just go with the indent. I think there are 6 square holes where they attach. They would need to be filled in and then the area repainted. When and if I ever sell the car they could be easily re attached. Here is the issue with all of this............can they match the paint? That is exactly why I'm hesitant to do it. Again a body shop that does custom work should be able to match the paint.

Matching the pain is not an issue any more. A good shop can match the paint, even if it's been oxidized.

Ok who's our PhotoShop person?
Can we get on this? Eliminate the wing on the front and back so we can get a look at the car without it.

Mine is color matched to the car, I think it look's best that way, or blacked out along with the grill. I've had it like that as well.

Here are a few pics od various ways X-fi would look with center badge only, wings removed, filled with bondo and painted, painted over.

If anyone wants a photoshop of their car w/mod wings forum mil me a pic with description of what u r thinking about doing.

That actually looks VERY good with just the Chrysler logo on the front and back. Dont like the naked rear end though... I have new centers coming to replace the Chrysler logo in the front and back. Wings with a capital M in the middle, Like 240M3SRT has on his. Silver on black.

I think I like it better with the wings and the C-R-O-S-S-F-I-R-E letters. Just adding Andrew's decals. I think this is a very classic look. Just my .02

I as well prefer the look of the wings. I think the letters, badging, and wings have a sweet style. I don't care too much for the no wings look. Just my $.02.

Chromed "wing" on the front of 2005 Chrysler Crossfire hood. About 24" long X 3" wide. Re-do in Black Chrome? Thanks, Max

Max,

Is the price painted to match the body color?

Unfortunately, I can't match colors other than black. But I can offer powdercoating for about $40 per wing.

No,no ,no. It's for them to strip the wing to base metal and re-plate it in black chrome.

I don't know if the price is high or not. I've had a lot of stuff plated before, but usually industrial nickel ("electroless").

I took Nightrider's photo chop and (Don't laugh, I'm at work) used MS Paint to smooth out the edge of the hood.... I tried to keep it even with the lines on the grill... It makes it hard to see the center spine in this chop...
