Moparrbust,

Simply amazing work. The time and detail as well as the attention to accurate measurement goes beyond a simple do-it-yourself job. The paint came out excellent as well. I really like the silver accents on the lettering.

On the underside it shows your seams, but that's to be expected. You really smoothed them out well. Are you going to put the 'pad' back under there with the super charger holes cut out? Are you going to make those vents 'live'? Enquiring minds want to know! :P

The hood is done...no more additions or subtractions. I decided to just seam seal the two visible join spots underhood since it is underhood (and everybody at work was giving me hell over the amount of time I had already spent on it). I'd also rather people be able to see at least SOME of the amount of work I went through to make this dream a reality...and not cover it up with an insulator.

Hi Mike, the paint looks perfect. Considering all the hours that you have invested, how much do you think your shop would charge to do the work for somebody "off" the street?
Since I can fly for free now, I'll probably be in Vegas at the end of April, and I hope to catch you at home to see your "Cross-Jag or "Jag-Fire" when I'm there.
One the most interesting things I've noticed during this nearly 200 post "odyssey" is that not even one person has chastised you for losing the hood strakes, or for daring to use a late 60's muscle car "style" hood modification on our classically styled modern sports car.
Now is that because everybody is finally getting fed up with Chrysler using the strakes on practically everything but the PT Cruiser? Or does it just go to show the Crossfire is truly a "timeless" design that successfully lends itself to imaginative modifications.
As I said before, the Dragon is only about 2020 miles from your house. Even though your car is set up for the drags, I bet it still goes around corners, and having all three "Hooded" cars together would be priceless.
As the winner of the "long distance" award, I bet we could all chip in to help out with gas money too.

The reason I chose the XKR hood in the first place is because that car looks so similar to the Crossfire from the side and the overall shape (other than the Jag being a little more stretched). The crossfire however has more sculpted and defined lines where the Jag is rounded and smooth...except for the hood. I feel this "Jag-Fire" hood is the perfect blend of elegance, muscle and function. Everybody that has seen it since(in person or online) has praised the look and said how much they disliked the OEM hood design.

My street tire/wheel setup rear tires ARE road course tires and I do enjoy the twisties very much. There just aren't very many twisties in town. As far as the 2000+ mile trip to the dragon goes, that won't happen for me. I enjoy driving and would probably LOVE the event but I can't stand driving VERY long distances. I've done the drive from Florida to Las Vegas, Las Vegas to Canada and from Las Vegas to Texas(many times) and don't care to take such a trip again.

WOW!

That turned out very nice indeed. The thing I like most about it is that you kept the center "spine".
The whole thing looks as if it were delivered that way. Great job.

I've always liked the original Crossfire hood with the strakes and consider all other Chrysler cars that have them to be wannabes only.

I do love your modification... the center spine and the attention to detail is outstanding. IF I was going to change the hood on mine, I think this is the one I would want.

Cheers!

Very interesting to see someone that stole my picture(and another members picture) and representing it as their own..................without my approval.
