2004's, Have you changed your battery?
Re: 2004's, Have you changed your battery?
I'm still not worried about it. I live in a very urban area. Griffith is considered a suburb of Chicago and there are auto part stores like there are McDonalds. It ever decides it don't wanna start I always carry jumper cables and if anything else make a quick phone call to a friend or family member and I have a battery. I very rarely travel out of a 50 mile radius of where I live and rarely hit the expressway. I work less than 2 miles from where I live and I have another car anyways. I know to many it might sound dumb and that I'm penny pinching ( which is true) but I'm trying to get the most bang for the buck. I'm only 20 years old and don't make as much money as most and I have college loans to pay for as well. I'm sure most of you where in my situation when you where my age. I don't skimp on oil changes or anything else for that matter. I plan to have my battery tested before winter comes along and if it turns out bad then I will buy a new battery.

If ya wait you will likely experience strange problems with your car before it dies.
Also jump starting these cars can be risky with all the electronics.
I changed mine in Feb. 2009 after reading many threads which discuss all the problems with batteries that begin to fail before they actually die completely.

There's your problem right there! Moar batteries!! Moar! Kinetik High Current Power Cells add three of these and u won't run out of juice till the end of time! My battery seems to be doin fine in the 2004 coupe, but hard to judge since I do have the 600 in with it. 1300 CCA=overkill? NEVER!

If you are unsure how old your battery is, or if it is the original then you can check the manufacture date codes on the battery. These are 2 letter codes linked to a series of numbers. They have a simple alphabetic formula, for example a 2003 battery is N folowed by the month letter from A to M, thus Feb 2003 will have NB.
2004 series start with P,
2005 R, 2006 S, 2007 T.
Don't ask me why they miss some letters out.
My OEM Varta has RA code Jan 2005 and car registered June 2005 so I think I will replace soon. Hope this helps, especially if you are a new owner.

Dec. and mine still going strong in the Crossfire. The battery in my truck is a 9 year old Duralast from Autozone, But I have to admit that I started to carry one of those jump starters just in case - my sons, he doesn't need it because he is in basic training.
