I have looked for information on Schrick cams and haven't found much of anything. I would like to know thw specs, and wether they are using new billet cams or re-grinds, as well as costs and where to buy.

schricks is the oem supplier for Mercedes benz, the cams in your crossfire are made by them. I know they make a higher lift cam for your v8. but since they are made for oem cars I don't think they will change your overlap, due to emissions regs, mabe I'm wrong, ask HDDP he has the specs from what I remmember and he can get a racers discount.

You will have to get the ph number from HDDP, he's done the leg work already. I doubt they have options for overlap, but maybe they can custom grind something.

Getting info from the MB forums is like pulling teeth over there, jeezus, here you are, go nuts! http://www.mbworld.org/forums/showthread.php?p=2026419 it's a bit of a dead end.

Thanks Maxwell, I was over there today doing some searching. I was on Benzworld and noticed that they have a section for "other" that included the Smart Car, but not much for us even though our cars are every bit as much a Benz as a Smart if not more so.

Here are some new pictures of the motor. I would have liked to have done more, but since this is still an unproven idea I have to keep costs down. As you read ealier, I washed the engine down to remove some aluminum oxide and then painted it with clear engine enamel. I did the same to the valve covers except I painted them Silver. I bought a kit off of Ebay that dresses up the stock engine cover. Let me know what you think! The new exhaust manifolds are on and if you compare these to what is currently in your Crossfire you will see that the stock exhaust will bolt up.

I really believe this engine has extreamly low miles. When I did the car fax it came back as 147 miles which I didn't believe. When I removed the valve covers everthing was pristine like it was just assembled even the inside of the valve cover didn't even have any oil stain discoloration.

After seeing the engine, I wish it had been a hyper option on XFire. I personally would rather have the cubes than the boost as the SRT option.

The Shrick Cams make decent power on the v8 but are very pricey.

Looks great bud! Keep it going, I'm anxious to see it sitting in the front of a crossfire!

I don't remember, but HDDP knows who does, either he purchased some or almost purchased some, I think at a substantial discount as well. I once linked us to a group buy for the cams once before from MBworld.com, but as usual, no one jumped on with me. Go over to MBworld.com, join and search, you will find a ton of mods for your car. The v8, like the v6, responds very well to ecu modifications ( i picked up 19 whp with the ecu mod) so if you get the cams and an ecu mod you would probably pick up 40 whp or so. I remember reading (but could be very very wrong) that ths v8's picked up 25 whp or so with the shrick cams.

not bad hp gain, some low boost superchargers only yield 40 hp.

I purchased them through Denon Performance with a NASA racers discount that was $400 less than Turner Motor Sports quoted me... If you want me to try to coordinate a group buy discount, perhaps he will agree to that... But, you're looking at a price from Turner Motor Sports of $1,799... Denon Performance $1,599 without racers discount... $1,399 with racers discount...
