Default Seat belt warning light

I was wondering if someone can check this out for me? If I as the driver do not buckle my seat belt I will get the warning light on the dash. If I unbuckle it while I'm under way it illuminates. When my passenger unbuckles it or does not buckle up I get no light or warning. Is this normal? Seems like it should respond for the passenger as it does for the driver. If anyone could test this I would appreciate your input.

The passenger belt is not monitored by the warning light circuitry.

Great. That is good news since I put new seats in my car I thought I might have a self created problem. Thanks for the reply.
