'04 - '05 seat swap anyone have schematics?
'04 - '05 seat swap anyone have schematics?
I am swapping my '04 seats - black for seats from an '05. I now notice the wiring plugs are completely different on the '05 seats! Making a swap now a much larger job. I have the '04 repair manual but do not have the '05. If I can get the wiring schematics I might be able to either make my own connections or perhaps buy the connections and splice them in. Seems like not only the connections are different but the wiring is different gauges as well. Any ideas? Crazy to have the connections different.

I only have the '04 schematics, prior to the introduction of the Limited and SRT6.

Yes, my car is an '04 with leather seats and heaters. The '05 seats has two tone leather so that's a limited. The wiring looks to be different gauge and colors as well as the plugs are totally different. Called the dealership and all there info says '04 and '05 seats, seat frames and all the parts we checked are the same.

upstate,
If your car had leather and heated seats in '04 it's also a limited. The fact that the '05 has two toned leather and the '04 has one color leather is not a determination of limited or not. If it has leather and heated seats it's a limited period. My '04 has the exact same interior two tone color as my '05; both are two tone grey and charcoal. It's just an interior color option that's all.

I understand actually all 04's had what we now call limited. My point is the seat wiring and connections are a different configuration and different color wires.
I am figuring it out by process of elimination, so far so good. Got the passenger seat done now the drivers will be my Sunday project.
