My fog lights won’t turn off.
My fog lights won’t turn off.
I have 2005 crossfire SRT-6 with almost 62,000 and my fog lights, side marker lights and tail lights won’t turn off. I have to jump start it or unplug the battery otherwise it drains my battery. My headlights don’t turn on. The turn switch is at the off position but they won’t shut off.

Is the switch in the straight up and down position?
On Canadian cars those lights are used as daytime running lights and are timed off by the trunk mounted security pump. I am not sure if they are all kept on after lights have been used at night on US car and the ignition switched off, I know the fog light is and it is timed out by the pump in the trunk, so a faulty trunk pump may be the cause. Rain water leaks into the trunk and wrecks the pump, check for water down beside the pump after removing the trunk mat.

Re: My fog lights won’t turn off.
Maybe you have water in the trunk around the CLP/SSM which controls the fog lights with the key out for ten seconds or so, any other lights on?

Onehundred80,
your call was spot on. the unit was sitting in 3 inches of water. the lights have turned off, only to go back on and stay on. i take it i'll need a new pump.
would a new used pump need to be flashed by stealership?

Re: My fog lights won’t turn off.
Make sure you get one that has the plugs and pig tails, you do not want to use your old plugs as they will be corroded as well most likely. When you get the new pump you should try and clean the old plugs to see if they work, if not you splice in the new plugs.
It would be nearly impossible to just buy the plugs after you have got a pump. Good luck, it is not too hard to do, but find and fix that leak or you will be doing it again.

What car do you have?
