Default Xfire Coolant light on! Need help plzzz

Hey everyone im new to this website and i would greatly appreciate your advice!

Ok i got a xfire about 3 months ago and it was running fine until a couple of weeks ago the coolant light kept coming on and off. Now its completely on. I got my friend who knows very much about cars and he said it could be that the thermostat is bad. But very little smoke came out of the connection on top of the radiator and the hose connects. Anyone have any advice or has had the same issue? Im trying to get it fixed before it gets worse

Try to drain coolant, and refill with proper spec coolant. Coolant level may be low, and improper coolant added previously. Also, after draining try to flush/clean the collant level sensor in the coolant tank, before refilling ....

Hows the temperature gauge reading? Watching that would be my main concern and if it's in a normal range and the reserve tank is "full" then it's probably just a bad fluid level sensor.. and a thorough flushing and refill might be whats needed as mentioned.

How are your coolant levels? Also check the windshield fluid.

I think you need to let us know exactly what 'idiot' light is on. Hot engine, low coolant???

Well the coolant tank is full. I also felt the top radiator hose and its completely hollow. Seems like no coolant is going to the radiator.

Hoses usually are hollow, they work better that way.

They get firm with the pressure when the car warms up.

There is a small tube built inside the surge tank just above the sensor connection. (in the furthest left chamber next to the radiator hose fitting in the picture below).

A small magnetic ball floats on the coolant in this tube. If the water gets to low, the magnet gets close to the sensor and triggers the light.

Assuming your engine is not overheating when you drive and the coolant level light is illuminated, you may have:

A stuck magnetic ball
A bad sensor
A faulty electrical connection

Had this problem two years ago. The fan motor and module burned out so the low coolant light came on. Was fixed under warranty at the time. The fan module was a recall, see if this was replaced on your car.

My car overheated while in park so it blew the upper radiater hose and i now know that it was my fan... Im getting my fan replaced later today but i still need an upper radiator hose. Any suggestions on where to buy an upper radiator hose? I called chrysler and they could order me one but it was goin to cost nearly $100. If anyone knows where to buy one please let me know asap! Thanks everyone for all your advice!
