Default Smiling Dragon Driver

My wife and I just spent a wonderful Saturday down at the Tail of the Dragon in Fontana, N.C. We drove (120 miles one way) down for the day. Everyone from the Forum that we met were very welcoming and helpful. We drove the Dragon and did the group "Tourist" (slow?) drive with all of the roadsters. I was impressed w/the enthusiasm for the XF and the event. The last time I was on the Dragon I was driving my Audi A6 S Line and it was fun. It was twice the smiles in my SRT!! Thanks to everyone for a great time. We hope to be able to make the fall event for the whole weekend. Happy Easter and thanks again!!

Hope you made it back to Alabama w/o your failing water pump dying completely. I looked at the rubber hangers when I got home; both are broken. I need to order two new ones and have them put on. I will probably have to go to Chrysler to get new ones. Thanks a lot for you help!

Try Car-Part.com--Used Auto Parts Market

choose exhaust muffler, it will list several.

Call them and see if they will sell you just the hangers, worth a shot ........

( or try MrMopar on this forum )

And yes, made it home fine and found it was NOT the water pump, it was a sneaky vacuum leak.

All better now.

I was thinking you had too few miles for it to be the water pump. Not sure of your miles, but seems like WPs usually go between 90,000 and 150,000

Your car is clean under the hood - it BELONGS at car shows!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know if that is a dig or a compliment, I'll choose complement, and yes it does occasionally show up at car shows.
If I don't keep it squeeky clean, maxcichon gives me a ration of s**t.

BTW - about to turn 50,000, 42,000 when I bought it Jan 5 2011

I was thinking water pump cause I just did the cooling flush 2 weeks before the dragon, and used Zerex G05 50/50 with distilled water.
I'm pretty sure that's the right stuff after searching around in here.

David,
great to meet you, wished more time to chat more!
I was the last car on that section of our drive from Franklin to a stop on the way back to Fontana, delightfully surprised to see you suddenly showed up behind me!
