15 Xfires running at Texas Motor Speedway!
This afternoon, 15 Crossfires from CTC, DFWXfires and Oklahoma Crossfires met at the Texas Motor Speedway to participate in the Laps For Charities event at TMS. It was a blast!
We all met at Babes Chicken House about a mile from the track to fill up on some awesome home cooked chicken and chicken fried steak (great suggestion Littlewing!). After eating, we all lined our cars up in front of the restaurant to caravan over to the track. Restaurant patrons sitting out front waiting on a table were amazed by the sight of our cars.
Once at the track, in the infield they lined up the groups of cars for the runs. They required a minimum of 12 cars for a group. We were the second group to run. Once out on the track, the pace car takes the group around for a warm up lap and then it's pedal to the metal for three more 1.5 mile laps. We averaged speeds between 90-100mph. Some went over 120.
After the run, they took individual photos of us in the winners circle. We then all gathered in the infield to watch other groups run, spend some time talking and taking photos. Later, several went out for a second run.
I’d like to thank all of the members that came and made this event so much fun. Several drove long distances and spent the night (or several nights). It was great seeing all the familiar DFWXfire guys and gals and meeting members from CTC and Oklahoma. Those that attended besides my wife and I are:
BLKFIN
texas t
SRT-6 Steve
FTroopChief
OKC-XFR
rayrich1506
Harleyracefan
eeric
joejet
Stogey
RGordner
LantanaTX

Here are a few of the many shots I have. Others please feel free to post up your shots and videos.

Here's some more photos:
Waiting for the gates to open
Going into the Winner's Circle
Coming in from the track
FTroopChief (John) coming in from the track
In order from left to right on their second run
Harleyracefan, BLKFIN and SRT-6 Steve
Hopefully someone can post up some photos in front of Babes.

I have a 07 crossfire and I think I have the base modle. I want to do some things to it, and have no direction on what to do. If anyone could hit me back at Jackel50187@yahoo.com. I would like some advice.

Thanks Inferno... This event was amasing! Driving on the speedway was surley awesome, but what made this meet so special was getting to know each other for real and having a blast before and after the runs on the track!
Can't get the grin of my face
Can we do it again? Can we... can we.... PLEASE?

Wow what a wonderful time with some old and new friends! Question, how do you stop a nine year old from constantly re-telling his time at the motor speedway? Thanks Inferno Red my good friend for providing one of those special father - son moments that last a life time.
