Default Centeral Texas & all Texas Crossfires

Note: 4/24/ Map attachments. Cruise(Drive around aimlessly but ostentatiously and at leisure) Updated this week-end. About 1.5 hour trip before Lunch. Great Roads... Note: Update, if you folks that are comming can get to Hunt, by Noon and meet at the Hunt store which is just about a mile beyond the canyon Springs entrance, we can go on a nice drive before getting together at our house for lunch, then we just found out a big supprise, hunt is having it's get together at 5 PM on the green, free food, music, and fun and you can still be home to San Antonio by 9PMThe Centeral Texas Crossfire meeting in May will be at our house on May 10th which is a Saturday. I am hopeful, that some other owners from around the state will join with us and enjoy the country side near Hunt.
I have talked to a couple of motels near our house (5-7 miles) about rates for any one wanting to come up and spend the week-end. Right now looks like about $75.00/night. May have a better rate next week after talking to business manager.

We wll plan on a lunch at our house on Saturday afternoon around 3PM, either on our deck, back yard or down by the river, depends on the number of people I will be feeding. We will provide Hamburgers/hotdogs, condiments, along with some baked beans, and potato salad. Iced tea and water will also be provided. If you want to bring, beer or wine or soft drinks please do so. If people come up on Friday night and stay over, the hotel will work us in for a group breakfast, about $5/$8, and then we can do a nice drive before lunch. If you want to stay over on Saturday night then we can do a Drive on Sunday and eithe a breakfast or lunch.
Add you two cents worth of what you want to do, but please answer the poll so I can have some idea of how much food to get for lunch on Saturday.

I will provide a map to the house later, on this same thread, by doing an edit. If you want to get a good Idea, just figure about 12 miles off I-10 from Kerrville, TX. Rt 27 to Ingram, then Rt 39 towards Hunt. Information:
the speed limit is 45mph and then 35mph in Ingram, the police love sports cars and mortocycles so watch the speed they are always around.

I hope that we will have a lot of Xfires from around the state.
Our best to you,
Derf/Fred, and Mollie

I live in Kerrville and would like to jump in trail if coming in a group, or can hit Hunt on my own. Any thoughts about a join up at the Hunt store? or a parking lot west side of K'ville? Looking forward to signing up and meeting y'all. Only had car about 3 weeks, but love it.

Suggestion for those coming on IH 10 , best exit to miss the Kerrville road construction and traffic lights is to pass exit 508 and get off at exit 505. Loop to the right 270 degrees and take Harper Road (FM 783) south to second traffic light, intersection with Junction Hy (27). Turn right (west) and keep on 27 to Ingram. Tie into 39 at Y with 27 in Ingram and follow the beautiful Guadalupe River to Hunt. Cars coming via Fredricksburg, enter IH 10 West before overpass and go 3 miles to exit 505. Follow above directions. ????

I have'nt seen any responce about hooking up for the drive to Fred's. I guess everyone is doing there own thing. I will be making the trip from Schertz alone. It looks like I35 North and South lanes out of Austin will be shut down during the weekend.

Reeca and I have had a issue come up and will not know until in the morning if we can come. We have a house full of people coming for mothers day and had some work done on the house that was promised to be completed by Wednesday and well they will finish today Friday so we have to put all the stuff back in the house. If I can get it done tonight we might be able to make the run.
I know that it is not what you guys want to hear nor us but it is what it is.
Paul

Same with me , my mother flew in Weds. and I'm not feeling well, in fact very sick. I hope I am better in the morning so I can wash my car. If I don't make it, it's not that my mom his here. The GTG was planned before she got here. It will because I'm to sick to drive. My concern is I've got the shirts that were ordered.

Meeting adjourned about 7PM to live music on the green in Hunt. I think everyone had a good time, nice drive for about 90 miles to park then back through some nice "twisty" road on Rt.16.
4 new members James and Kathy from near Austin, John and Eileen from Kerrville. Randy and Janey, from Austin, meet us at our house and we all had a good time. I will Post the groups suggestions for next month's meeting tomorrow on a new thread. Wish the rest of you could have made it.

I'm really sorry Fred, I didn't make it. I've never been so sick. I haven't even been able to enjoy my Mom's visit after not seeing her for 2 years. If I wasn't sick and even though she is visiting, I would have made it to the GTG as planned. Those you showed had fun, I wish I could have been one of them. As we all know for our club to be a good one, we need the participation of all it's members. This club should not be dependent on the few. Everyone needs to come to the plate to make sure our club (your club)is a success.
