Need a good aftermarket radio with navigation. What did you guys install?
I am looking to install a good aftermarket radio/Navigation with flip screen under $200
I am told there's no kit for it and I'd have to have one custom done. I am also told it doesn't need a kit. Rather than trying to guess at this, I thought I'd see what other's have done and duplicate that if I can.
What is a good system that I can install without a kit and that won't look funky sitting in the slot?
Under $200 and with Navigation.
What adaptor..etc? What did you guys do?
Can I install myself?
My car already has navigation, but of course it's the old CD system.

Guess I am trying to understand why ? The sat nav on my cell phone is live and warns of accidents & traffic jams. All I want from the car (have several) is Bluetooth, amp, and speakers. CD slot makes a nice place for a mag mount for my phone & one phone serves all cars and my trailer (also has Bluetooth).
Yes it can be done, as a couple of double din threads on here.

Google maps on my phone (a Galaxy Note 5 ,nice big screen) works for me.
I can bluetooth music from it, run Dashcommand app, and Maps (and or the Garmin Nav app ) , all at the same time if i want , its great :-)
That said i still would not mind a nice double unit but , there
are other options now , i dont know what they are like in quality but here; a single Din unit with a plug in screen , 10.1 inches here ! Yikes somethin to brag about lol. it would look like a tesla in there :-)

Or a 1 din 7 inch plug in screen here:

oops I forgot to take a pic of google Maps or the Garmin app , anyways they're right there too, fingertip control !
a Magnet mount makes it so easy to place and remove the phone.

I've seen a couple of single din popouts will all the bells and whistles for about $250. I'll see if I can find a link. One of our members installed it last summer and I saw it at Carlisle. Nice unit.

Have both Street Atlas and Streets and Trips on tabs. Also a couple of dedicated devices. Haven't used in a few years. When I plan a trip, google maps downloads everything needed and just updates with traffic alerts. Florida must be near 100% cell coverage (when not having a weather event), do not remember a time when It has not kept me on track (unless someone built a wall across the road).
ps phone mounted that high might be ok in UK but here could result in a ticket for "obstructed vision"

My smart phone has a Garmin Nav app that does not need or use any cell/mobile service to work , just GPS satellites.
Mounting either a dedicated GPS unit or a phone to the window is the best place to have it,it is common practice here in Australia.

Just bought one in an .(note coupon) Seems to do what I need (wireless Android Auto was the big one for me, most are wired) Since have amp, do not need a lot of power. Also ordered a
