Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
So has he already done multiple builds for 10k or these would be his first and there is the possibility of price getting out of control once he has the car apart? I think people probably want to know who the guy is and what his background is. He should join the forum and then he could answer what I’m sure is going to be many questions

My supercharger is going to arrive next week, so I think I'm going to go ahead and install it along with the nitrous. Below is all the info you guys will need to get a group buy going if you choose to. As I stated before, he wanted 8K each for 5, or 10K each individually. That's a hell of deal in my book, but the way I go through cars it's probably best I stick with bolt-on mods.

Here's a car he had listed on ebay recently that has the conversion.
Here's his youtube account with videos of some of the cars he's converted. This guy refuses to go online, and he's bad about responding to emails also, but he's good with text and calls.
Best of luck.

grip his c55 is undeniably awesome. Has he done any crossfire’s before? As Jim pointed out it might be uncharted territory. If he could guarantee things wouldn’t spiral out of control price wise and lock in the 10k I would 100% be interested come April-ish
Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
I don't think he's done a Crossfire, but he's done a bunch of other MB's. He also mentioned something about doing the swap for 5K labor if you provide your own parts (engine, tranny, heat exchanger, HE pump, fuel pump, etc. I think this guy is a straight shooter, but it's your money. He's that same C55 listed on MBWorld for around 24K. Actually, a friend of his listed it for him since he doesn't go on the computer much.
Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
Are any of you interested in a M113K swap and willing to shell out 10K for it?
I've been looking into the swap for my SLK55, and I ran into a shop that has performed a few of these swaps recently. The shop will supply the motor, tranny, misc parts, labor, and tuning for a full OEM looking swap for around 10K. As with a few others, the downside is no working ESP or cruise control.
Anyone willing to shell out that kind of money for a swap?
Sorry, but I don't want to mention the specific shop just yet, as this is just a feeler.

I'm late but I'm definitely down. How would I go about this?
Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
Why those problems with ESP and cruise control?
Thanks

Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
I'm just bumping this as I'm once again thinking about swapping in an M113K. I've installed a Renntech supercharger on my SLK55 but it will never make the power the M113k is capable of. The low compression 113k can do 600 WHP whereas the M113 is lucky to see over 400WHP under boost with headers. I'm running headers and 8 PSI and seeing 410WHP and 440WTQ on the dyno and compared to what modified E55's are seeing that's pathetic. I plan on running the car this year with the Renntech, but next fall I want to get serious and install the M113k. It looks like Chris (Latemodel21) is hell bent on buying a Slk55 and doing the M113k swap, so you know at least one of us is going to make it happen. Anyway, here's couple vids of my SLK trying to do some work.

Anthony, I don't understand,,, why don't you just sell it ,,,Buy my new V8 (sl55amg engine with 48000 miles) in a gray crossfire, with no mods,, and u can build it the way u want ( to a 10 or 9 second car) ,a lot more fun than a slk (too heavy) then i can put a sl 55 engine into my 2002 C320 wagon. now that will be fun. BTW this is the last V8 that rudy may do so if you want a v8 done right..now is the time to get it,,, mine is not for sale, but i would sell it so i could build my wagon jim

Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
I reread this thd and i don't think this guy could or would put a turn key V8 into a crossfire for $10,000.00 or even 20,000 I have been involved to 3 V8 conversions now and none have cost less than 20,000.00 .
My first V8 was $18,000.00 for the car and $13,000.00 for a 4000 mile engine tranny wiring harness & ECU that is $35,000.00 before any labor and or miscellaneous parts are included . I just have my doubts, I don't think many people would give him their car and 10 grand for something they are not sure he can do. Oh i did find a engine and tranny for $3500.00 only it had 133000 miles on it. i guess you get what you pay for. jim
PS if he does do a v8 for someone with a crossfire, i will be the first to congratulate him

Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
I had that engine in my 2013 Durango and if it can make it as good as it was it would be great in a Crossfire.
Re: Gauging interest in M113K swaps for under 10K - turnkey
I see it as: you bring us your car, we'll find an engine on ebay and install it. I can see $10k being fair for that. if you want other services such as rebuilding the engine etc, then just add on to the base cost.
I had my 170 SLK already, bought a 01 CLK55 with title issues for $1000 and then a Crossfire 6-speed with some other bits for another $1000. granted, mine is powered by standalone but I still have ESP and cruise. so I paid less than 4K total for EVERYTHING and have an SLK"55" with a 6 speed that has 160k. If I could do the same thing and charge others 10K, I would be making some really good profit.

Wishing GeorgieBenz success with his V-8 mod from $10,000 to $20,000. Give him a chance. He sure puts out fast cars. I'm right at twice that cost now going a much different route. The finished Darton MID wet sleeve SL55 engine was strapped down to a pallet to be shipped to Rudy for dropping down into my SRT-6. I suddenly decided to have the BWE pistons pulled. Now having Dime Racing Development pistons with all coatings installed to the Carrillo rods. I think these pistons will survive longer under the pressure of a 3 liter Weistec blower with Rudy and Robs additional mods. Squirrel Crusher
