New Member and ready to buy !
I am a new member in the central NY area. I've had my SRT4 since 2005 and will be selling it soon but I am ready to mature by 2 to an SRT6. So, I have read a bit on what to look for from this site and forum. Also also saw somewhere that if I listed the car here that I found online (like cars.com or craigslist) then someone might recognize some history of the car, since there are so few in circulation. But for now I jsut want to introduce myself and hope to join the fun soon.

Welcome to the forum. The forum has a PDF of SRT6's. When you find the one your willing to buy, get the VIN# and compare it to the list. You might get lucky an find the previous owner was a forum member ,then be able to trace repairs or up grades they made. Happy hunting!
Re: New Member and ready to buy !
Thanks Folks.
AMX1379 = no, not looking for a v8, sounds like fun to work on though...
Steve and Chuck = thanks. I checked the registry for a Aero Blue SRT6 in Pennsylvania 5x037089 but it did not link to any previous member listed in the SRT6 VIN numbers pdf. I plan on looking at it tomorrow after work. The owner gave me the VIN number. Here is the cars.com link if anyone knows the owner: https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/d...4583/overview/
I probably should buy a carfax subscription for this.

Re: New Member and ready to buy !
Personally, for $14K that car better be super clean and have a clean CarFax and maintenance record - a WRITTEN record.
I bumped into a WONDERFUL Graphite version with 61000 miles for $12,000 two years ago very near me. Came in on Friday, I looked at it Monday. Test drove it, ran like a raped ape - it was unmodded, but WHAT a difference from the N/A.
I took 24 hours to consider it (and the fact I had no business paying $12K for another toy) and decided to buy it. Called the dealer, it was gone. $14K is probably not out of line, but it just seems a bit high to me. Were it a ROadster, and Graphite, I could see $14K
Of course, it's all easy for me to say - with my job concerns right now, I'm not buying anything. If ya love the car and it's close and it's right - well, it cost me $1400 to go get my Graphite and drive it home 2200 miles - so it's all relative.

Going to look at member "dpeel82" black SRT6 tomorrow. From the posts, it looks like he has had it only for a short time with troubles from the beginning. I am looking for a car I can keep for 10+ years, so I hope his has some life left in it.

Re: New Member and ready to buy !
Still looking for my SRT6. I found one that I plan to look at this weekend but the VIN in the add does NOT match anything that is in the SRT6 pdf registry here in the forums. I wonder if the registry is complete. BTW, I never did look at dpeel82's black SRT6, but since he removed the for sale advertisement I assume that he sold it. Sounded like a very nice car. I wish him well.

1,400 numbers are still not listed.

Re: New Member and ready to buy !
I'm traveling 4hrs+ to see an SRT6 in Toyota of Morristown, NJ tomorrow morning at like 10am. Anyone local in Morristown NJ want to give up an hour of their morning to help me look at it? Yeah, it is a lot to ask. But I hear they have good coffee. Anyhow, if your crazy enough to lend me 15 minutes and your close by, give me a private message. Thanks folks. Paul
Re: New Member and ready to buy !
It took a week before the phone call.. "come get it if you still want it"..
Guess that lose rear window scared off all those coming to look.. LOL.
Re: New Member and ready to buy !
First let me say that this car is amazing! You guys are keeping a great secret. Mine is all stock with no mods. My wife drove it home for me (4.5hrs) while I tried to keep up in my SRT4. When we got home she said that it was "her" car! No no no! Mine! Well, when she lets me drive it.
BTW= this was the forth crossfire I looked at, but only the second SRT6. The guy I bought it from was the original owner. Spotless inside, but a deep scratch an the rear quarter on the outside (I could tell it was very recent), otherwise beautiful and worth the extra $$ for a clean car. Very happy.
My first thing to fix is so minor that it is silly = the "6" is missing from the SRT6 emblem on the rear hatch. Also, the tire pressure indicator is on even though the tires have the correct pressure (I hear this is common). So far, that is it.
