Going back to OSW tonight!
Going back to OSW tonight!
The weather forecast says it's going to drop to 48 degrees tonight with no moisture in the air. You know what that means! I'll post vids later tonight or tomorrow since Kim can't come out tonight to film with my phone. GoPro to the rescue I guess. I'll be data logging tonight if everything goes as planned. Still shooting for an 11 on street tires, but these Hankooks may be on the brink of replacement.
Re: Going back to OSW tonight!
Chuk, maybe you didn't hit the 11's but on STREET tires I think you now hold,,,
the "street tire record" congratulations you are the man. .
I was planning to go to Ocala on jan 23 & 24th for the 1/2 mile run, but the radiation treatment starts Monday, so maybe next year ,,,,do you want to go next year.? jim

Re: Going back to OSW tonight!
All you need now to push you over the edge is a pair of nearly new MT Steets on AMG wheels. I just sold a set to a member here on the forum.

Re: Going back to OSW tonight!
Question, Chuk -- what is your rear tire size?
The reason I ask, I noticed my 60' times were .1 second faster with a 275/35/19, versus a 285/30/19.
The 285 was wider, but the overall diameter was a bit shorter, and thus resulted in a more tedious launch each time. Not sure if it's because the tire was heavier, or taller (or both), but the 275/35 tires simply grabbed better.
In the twisties, I preferred the 285s because they would allow the handling to be a bit more neutral (oversteer was easier to initiate, balancing the usual "front-heavy" feel of the car).
Cheers,

Re: Going back to OSW tonight!
boostmonkey: no NOS or E85. Just 93 octane and a bit of octane booster along with the mods in my signature.
John: I'm running 285/35/19s, 4 year old Hankook Ventus evo110. Looks like that may be changing soon. I like that size since it fills the wheelwell and handles corners and straight lines equally from my perspective.
Sparkie: I may have scored a set of Tolimann lightweight wheels with ET Street tires for less than you could probably ship yours.

Hi Chuk,
Don put 18,s all the away around with BF Goodrich g-force TAs 295/35ZR18 99Y on the rear and 225/40ZR18 92Y on the front. My question is with the tread about gone on the back I'm looking for replacements. They don't make the same tread design any more but I like the bite. I don't track so I'm interested in your opinion since you know my car. As you know the car is lowered so the space in the well is limited.
Your thoughts?
