Default Tire Trailer Hitch?

Hello, can anyone tell me if the underbody of the Mercedes SLK320 is the same as the Crossfire? I am planning to purchase a SLK320 trailer hitch assembly and having a local machine shop cut and lower the center to fit under the muffler.

Obviously, some of you feel that a Crossfire should never have a hitch. Please post those comments in your own thread.

Easy way... find an SLK 320 or SLK32 near you at a car lot and go take a look. Unfortunately, I don't have any that live near me or park near where I work.

Good luck!

The SLK320 trailer hitch will not work. Trust me I tried going that route before I built my own. My friend has an SLK with trailer hitch and I climbed underneath it to look. The hitch mounts to the spare tire well on that car and we don't have one of those on our car that sticks down low enough because of the center exit exhaust. Here are a couple pictures of my custom hitch to tow my race tires.
