I have a few unlocked SRT6/SLK32 ECUs for sale. These can be used as a second ECU for performance tuning purposes such as an aggressive tune for use with race gas at the track and a standard tune for pump gas on the street or as a spare or replacement for a defective ECU. Right now, they are programmed for use in the Crossfire but I can program them for use in the SLK32.

wow!! why hasn't someone picked this up. a spare or extra ecu,,Rudy why didn't you have this when my car was a srt6 i would set mine up for 93 at the track and buy yours and set it up for good gas mileage.. Rudy, if you can make this ecu work on my V8 ,I'll take it now, jim

 

Only two left. These are a steal compared to the two grand or more the dealerships charge for them. If you're in the Chicago area, I'll even program it for free.

When EC is carrying out a tune, are they reprogamming the ecu?
They have told me they will change the octane level up to 95/98 that is the norm for Europe. Will that improve mpg? I think my srt6 is drinking too much...

European gas isn't actually higher octane than American gas.

Read Octane rating - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia - in Europe, you just measure the octane differently (RON vs AKI).

Your "95 octane" is our "91 octane" and your "98 octane" is our "93 octane premium."

Anyway, yes, Eurocharged do reprogram your ECU when they flash it - Eurocharged essentially overwrite your ECU's software with a version with modified flags (speed limit, etc) and data tables (mixtures and so on), while Rudy uses the Mercedes diagnostic tools in developer mode to talk to the software running on your ECU and tell it to do things like clear the VIN programming and model type (Mercedes tools in developer mode also allow the removal of the speed limiter, but I don't think they allow for the in-depth data table modification that Eurocharged have achieved, although I'm not positive and I suspect Rudy probably knows something about that too).

Nope, most of us run on what it says in the American manual which is either 91 (usually found at higher elevations) or 93 AKI octane (so 95/98 for you).

Anyway, you should absolutely get better mileage post-tune - just you might not gain anything over us tuned Americans performance wise since your octanes aren't actually very different. My N/A gained ~3-4mpg on the highway and a few miles to a tank in the city as well. I don't know what the Eurocharged guys do (that's why I pay them ) but they definitely improve mileage with a tune.

 

Why wouldn't you just ask these questions from eurocharged directly ??

 

Canada has basically four octane ratings for gas, Regular 87, Mid Range (a mix) 89, Premium 91 and a Super Premium 94.
We run the Crossfires on Premium as recommended, well I do when 94 is not available. The 94 is probably a waste of money, but what the heck.

Crap I missed out! Let me know if you come across another 55K ECU. Could a firmware update be used to create a 55K ECU from a n/a V8 ECU? I need to get the key thing resolved and I am running out of theories. I think you know which idea I am going to use. Good luck selling the 32 ECU's! Sorry if this a slight hijack.
